Science Revolution
I) Gutenbergs Printing Press

Created the Printing Press
Caused many changes:

Literacy increased in Europe

Books became cheaper & easier to make

Peasants began to become educated

Printed Bibles increased the spread of
religious ideas and beliefs
II) Abuses by the Church

- Church is getting rich off of
indulgences (Ticket to heaven
and for forgiveness of sins)

- Becoming caught up in power
instead of religious affairs

- People believed the Pope
decided who went to heaven or
hell

- Many manors left to the Church
III) Protestant Reformation
A) Many Christians
wanted to reform

Church
B) Martin Luther
wrote 95
arguments (Called
95 Thesis) against
indulgences and
why the church /
pope were corrupt.
