Objective of Business Research Center


The BRC wishes to engage faculty from other departments in the university when
appropriate research projects arise.

To become a research resource for local and regional organizations. Since the
emphasis of the BRC on applied research, outside organizations are expected to be
the primary source of research projects.

The BRC will provide services to organizations when the educational objectives of
the BRC are compatible with the research objectives of an organization.

The BRC to provide applied educational experiences to students in a variety of
research areas related to business. The research areas include but are not limited to
the following: human resources, marketing, operations, finance, accounting,
business law and security, management information systems and economics.

Justification and Background of the Project
PURPOSE
To understand the Benefits and Challenges of having Business Research Center in the
University, and to explore Institutional Strategies that Capitalize on the Strengths and to
improve the Weaknesses of the University.
IMPACT
University will offer a number of benefits to other academic institutions.

Research Center can aid in faculty recruitment and retention, facilitate collaboration in
research, secure research resources, offer a sense of community and promote continued
learning, afford organizational flexibility, and focus on societal problems and raise funds.

Research center can also create tensions and present management challenges to
institutional leaders.
