HISTORY
December 7, 1898 after the Filipino-American War,
A missionary named Mr. Helmon P. Williams
thought the value of the bible than the guns. On
August 3, 1901, he started to preach the new
testament and he also held his first service on
June, 1902. In the same year, the Sunday
service happened in Rizal Avenue Cervantes.
After two years Mr. Williams together with Mr.
Hannah went to the Ilocos Region to
promulgate Christianity.

For God so loved the Philippines, he sent Missionaries
that had helped Christianity to be known all over the
Country. One of them was the Wolfes Family they
have been channel to extend the gospels. They had
translated English bible to Tagalog in order to reach
more Filipinos with the Word of God. They had a lot of
trials but the Missionaries did not gave up nor
defeated and continued the purpose of God to
proclaim the Gospel in the Philippines for more than a
hundred years, Churches of Christ in the Philippines
remains faithful in proclaiming the greatest
commission.

OBJECT OF EXISTENCE IS
1. To restore New Testament Christianity and the
Consequent union of all followers of Christ in One Body.
To Exalt Christ above party and His Word above human
creeds.
2. To build a church of Christ without denominational name,
man written creed or other barriers to Christian unity,
whose terms of fellowship shall be as broad as the
conditions of salvation and identical with them.
3. To lead sinners to Christ in the clear light of New
Testament teaching.

THE CHURCH THUS TEACH AND PLEAD FOR

1. The Bible as the only rule of faith and practice (II Timothy
3:16-17).
2. Christian as the name of Christ followers (Acts 11:26-28).
3. Church Unity (John 17:20-21; 1 Corinthians. 1:10).
4. Baptism of Believers (Mark 16:15, 16; Acts 2:38, 41; 16:32-
34).
5. Immersion as Baptism (Mark 1:5-10; John 3:23; Acts
8:38).
6. Living the Christian Life, working as if all depended on
us, trusting as if all depends on Christ (Hebrew 12:1-2).

DOCTRINE
When the Bible speaks, we speaks. . .
When the Bible is silent, we are silent.
- Churches of Christ
SALVATION
The water symbolizes the place where you will
be cleansed by the blood of Christ. After
submersing yourself into the water it is like
putting your old sinful self on the grave together
with the sacrifices of God for us.
- Churches of Christ
THE FATHER, THE SON AND THE HOLY SPIRIT:

The Holy Trinity
Three PERSONA is equal but they are one God.
God the Father was the one who created the
heaven and earth and he came down in the
human form as Jesus Christ. Churches of
Christ
BAPTISM IS ESSENTIAL TO SALVATION.
Just like what Christ did with J ohn the Baptist. Christ was
even himself was baptized in the water by immersion.
Water Baptism is an act of being washed out by the blood
of Christ that was sacrificed on the cross.
They do not allow babies to be baptized because in the eyes
of God the babies and children were innocent and they
will inherit the kingdom of God. Water baptism is
intended for those sinners who will accept that they
cannot do anything to save themselves, without Christ
they cannot do anything to be save, and accepting Him
as their personal Lord and savior will lead to Salvation.

SUNDAY WORSHIP AND GIVING

In the same way, some think one day is more holy than
another day, while others think every day is alike. You should
each be fully convinced that whichever day you choose is
acceptable. Those who worship the Lord on a special day do
it to honor him. Those who eat any kind of food do so to
honor the Lord, since they give thanks to God before eating.
And those who refuse to eat certain foods also want to please
the Lord and give thanks to God. (NLT) In Colossians 2
Christians are instructed not to judge or allow anyone to be
their judge regarding Sabbath days.

Colossians 2:16-17
Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what
you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious
festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath
day. These are a shadow of the things that
were to come; the reality, however, is found in
Christ. (NIV) And in Galatians 4, Paul is
concerned because Christians are turning
back like slaves to legalistic observances of
"special" days:

Galatians 4:8-10
So now that you know God (or should I say, now that God knows
you), why do you want to go back again and become slaves once
more to the weak and useless spiritual principles of this world?
You are trying to earn favor with God by observing certain days or
months or seasons or years. (NLT)

Drawing from these verses, I view this question of the Sabbath
similar to the tithe. As followers of Christ, we are no longer under
legalistic obligation, for the requirements of the law were fulfilled
in Jesus Christ.

Everything we have, and every day we live, belongs to the Lord.
At the very minimum, and as much as we are able, we happily
give God the first tenth of our income, or a tithe, because we
know that everything we have belongs to him. And not out of any
forced obligation, but joyfully, willingly, we set aside one day each
week to honor God, because every day truly belongs to Him.
CHURCHES OF CHRIST MINISTRIES:
Evangelistic Ministry:
This ministry is into personal evangelism,
Crusades, and sharing of the word of God to
those who have not accepted Christ as their
personal Lord and Savior. Making them realized
how God sent His Son to be save Mankind.

Music has been an important part of every
Filipinos way of Glorifying Our Creator.
There are people who are gifted by a
voice to sing praises, a talent to play
musical instruments. Music Ministry is a
way of encouraging Members to be
active and use their talents in serving
God.

FEEDING PROGRAM MINISTRY:

Some of the local Churches have
dedicated themselves in feeding the
less fortunate kids in their
community in a regular monthly
activity. Churches of Christ believed
that we have the responsibility to
feed the body as well as feeding the
soul.

CHILDREN MINISTRY:
The long lived ministry of Daily
Vacation Bible School ( DVBS) is
the foundation of Children 's
Christian Education in the church.

This kind of Ministry is concentrating more
on the development of Christian Youth in
the service of God. This is in preparation
of their Church leadership in the future.
The Church believes that Youths are the
future leaders of the Church.

To God be the
Glory!
