Brazil covers about half of south America , making it the 5th largest country in the world. It shares a border with every country in South America except for Ecuador and Chile.

The music of Brazil is internationally respected and it conveys a nation rich in art and culture. It encompasses various regional music styles influenced by African, European and Amerindian forms Famous music styles includes: SAMBA ( Afro-bahian rhythmslargely seen during Carnival), BOSSA Nova (jazzy rock similar to Samba), and CHORO (classical / ballroom).

"Aquarela do Brasil" (Watercolor of Brazil) is one of the most famous Brazilian songs of all time, written by Ary Barroso in 1939. Ary Barroso wrote "Aquarela do Brasil" in early 1939, when he was prevented from leaving his home one night due to a heavy storm.

Brazil's national musical style. The Bahian Samba de Roda (dance circle), which became a UNESCO Heritage of Humanity in 2005, is the main root of the samba carioca, the samba that is played and danced in Rio de Janeiro.

RIO CARNIVAL
One of the most interesting artistic events on the Globe. A large 5 day festival held 46 days before Easter which celebrates the farewell to bad things prior to Christs death and resurrection. It officially starts on Friday and finishes on Fat Tuesday with the beginning of Lent on Ash Wednesday after which one is supposed to abstain from all bodily pleasures. Characterized by brightly- colored costumes, opulent decorations and jolly music.

Football is the most popular sport in Brazil. They have a Record of 5 world Cup titles. They will be hosting 2014 Fifa World Cup. Rio de Janeiro will host the 2016 Olympic games.

Volleyball is the next favorite sport, The Mens Volleyball team won the Olympics in 1994 and 2004 as well as world championship in 2002 and 2006.

ECONOMY

Brazil is the largest national economy in Latin America.

Brazil also leads the world in the production of iron. One of the most important Brazilian industrial segment is the automobile industry. Many international companies make cars in Brazil: Volkswagen, Ford, Mercedes Bens, General Motors, Fiat, Volvo, etc.

Agriculture

Brazil is the worlds largest coffee, sugar, and alcohol producer, and second in soybean and corn, apart from being the third largest fruit producer. Brazil is the worlds second largest producer of beef (6.6 million tons/year), and has the largest commercial herd, numbering some 170 million heads. It is also the second largest world producer of poultry, with 5.5 million tons/year .

1. Christ the Redeemer (statue)
It is a statue of Jesus Christ in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; considered the largest Art Deco statue (98 feet) in the world and the 5th largest statue of Jesus in the world. 2. Iguazu Falls These are waterfalls of the Iguazu River on the border of the Brazilian state of Paran and the Argentinian province of Misiones. On November 11 of 2011, Iguazu Falls was announced as one of the seven winners of the New Seven Wonders of Nature

3. Estadio do Maracana
It is an open-air stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The Marcana stadium will be in the limelight once again at Brazil 2014, hosting seven games in all, more than any other venue. Among those matches will be the Final on 13 July.
