Everyone knows what happens on TV during the Hunger Games, but what happens behind the scenes? The truth is that contestants go through so much more than meets the eye. To illustrate, they are taken away from their home and are forced to leave their districts, most of them will not return. From there, they are taken on an incredibly long train ride until they reach the capitol. At the capitol, they are housed and fed. Then, they are plucked and waxed all over until they cant possibly tell who they are! And thats just the start

After the stylists come and go, they are sent out to the opening ceremonies where they make their grand entrance. No one was predicting the spectacular display made by Peeta and Katniss this year. Next, they are brought into training. They go through different workshops such as knot-tying, fire making, and so on. Then they appear before the Gamemakers to show off their skill, and the number of sponsors they receive depend on the score they get. Finally, they are taken to the arena where the TV coverage starts. Now you know the whole process!

Champions Crowned!!!!!!!!!!
The 74th annual Hunger Games went off with a bang and ended with a twist. This year, two champions were allowed per district. 16 year olds Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark won the games. The pair from District 12 surprised all of Panem as they came out victorious; injuries and all. Peeta had to get a leg amputation, and Katniss got her hearing restored in her left ear. Nevertheless, the two tributes are good as new, now. They will soon embark on their Victory Tour. -Cayla Kass Not only are the two District 12 tributes winners together, they are also deeply in love with each other. Peeta confessed it all at the interviews before the games. During the games, all of Panem held its breath as Peeta lovingly told Katniss his story: [Forever started on] oh I guess the first day of school. We were five. You had on a red plaid dress and your hairit was in two braids instead of one. My father pointed you out when we were waiting to line up. Such heartfelt words. What will happen next year?
