General Description of English Teachers for 21st century learners


Century 21 is known to everyone as the century of knowledge which is the main foundation of all aspects of life. 21st century learning paradigm emphasizes the student's ability to think critically, able to connect with the real world of science, master of information technology communication, and collaboration. The achievement of these skills can be achieved by the application of appropriate learning methods in terms of mastery of the material and skills. The ability to connect science to the real world is done by getting students to see life in the real world. Interpret any teaching materials to the application in life it is important to encourage students' motivation. In particular in elementary education is still relatively concrete thinking, the ability to connect any teacher teaching material with real life will improve mastery of the material by students. (Patrick Griffin & Barry McGaw. 2012)

21st century learning skills have characteristics:


Critical thinking and problem solving. Creativity and innovation. Collaboration, teamwork, and leadership. Cross-cultural understanding, communications, information, and media literacy. Computing and ICT (Information and Communication Technology) literacy. Career and learning self-reliance.

There are 4 categories of skills needed in the 21st century including the following:
1. Ways of thinking 2. Ways of working 3. Tools for working 4. Skills for living in the world

Some characters are required to learn in the 21st century, namely:


Communication.
Collaboration.

Critical Thinking and Problem Solving.


Creativity and Innovation.

Technology will feature heavily in the discussion of teaching 21st century , it is the language we speak and the student teacher needs to learn to take our profession forward and make the education we provide more relevant and interesting . 21st century teachers teaching ensures enhanced through the use of information technology learners ICT skills development .

21st century teachers use ICT to: deliver greater flexibility and choice of lessons and teaching techniques communicate information and concepts clearly with high quality lessons and resources make learning exciting and engaging for all learners provide adaptive solutions for learners with special needs create a learning environment where learners feel safe and secure extend learning and work in partnership with parents, families and the community.

In the century 21st century in the develop teaching using ICT media as a means of supporting student learning, which helps facilitate students and teachers in the learning and teaching process. Technology is also useful to be able to expand the knowledge and connect science to the real world. Teaching materials to the application in life it is important to encourage students motivation and enthusiasm for learning, and requires children to be critical thinking, creative and innovative. In the 21st century, students also use the method that aims to discuss the student is able to communicate well and be able to convey new ideas to others.
