Objective: Know the conditional verbs

Conditional Verbal Time

 El condicional es un tiempo verbal que indica la probabilidad de que algo ocurra. Se utiliza la palabra IF, que significa Si, y es lo que da la condicionalidad a la oracin.

Zero Conditional
Se utiliza para expresar verdades
cientficas o demostrables.

Tanto la parte de la frase con if como la frase principal se forman en presente simple.

Example
If you stay under the rain, you get wet
(Si te quedas bajo la lluvia, te mojas)

If you heat water, it boils

(Si calientas el agua, hierve)

If you get near a fire, you get burned

(Si te acercas al fuego, te quemas)

Activity
Create zero conditional phrases with the words given: a) My daughter / eat / too much chocolate / she /get / sick b) Ice / float / you / drop / it / in water

c) If / no / rain / the grass / not / grow

d) If / lights/ go off/ you / not / see / anything

First Conditional

Objetive
Know about the first conditional.

First Conditional
Se utiliza para describir situaciones probables y resultados posibles. La situacin comienza en el presente y es definida en el futuro. Se escribe la palabra IF al comienzo, acompaado de una accin en presente simple y una conclusin en futuro simple estructurada con Will (ll)

Examples:
If I see Peter, Ill give him your message.
If it rains today, I'll stay at home.
If + simple present + simple future

Activity
1. Choose the correct phrases and form Conditional sentences. 1) If you (repair/will repair) my bike, I (helps/will help) you with the Maths homework. 2) If Peter (sit/will sit) on the sofa, his sister (sit/will sit) next to him. 3) If it (snow/will snow) in the Alps, it (rains/will rain) in Munich.

Second Conditional

Objetive
Know second conditional.

Second Conditional
Se utiliza para describir situaciones imaginarias o de resultado muy poco probable.
Se escribe de la siguiente forma: If + past simple + subject + would + infinitive

Examples
If I won the lottery, I would (or Id) leave my job and travel around the world. (unlikely) If I were you, Id apply for a new job. (imaginary)

Activity I.-Put the sentences in second conditional.
