Note Cards – Used to record quotes or


paraphrased information you may use in
your final product

Source Cards:
 Items that must be included on all source cards.
– 1. Author’s full name.
 Last name, first name.
– 2. Title of book.
 Title must be underlined.
– 3. Place of publication.
 State where it is published. City also, if it is available.
– 4. Publisher Name.
 Include appropriate endings. Ex. Inc., Corp., etc.
– 5. Copyright date.
 The most current year the book is published.

Common Themes
 Always begin with the author or editors
name
 Article titles are in quotations
 Title of the book, magazine, etc. is
underlined
 They all include the copyright date.

Name of magazine. Volume Number (date
of publication), page(s).

Notice the title of the article is in quotation marks with the
You Try period. There is a volume number listed so the date is in
parenthesis, otherwise just use the date of the magazine.

should always summarize and paraphrase in your
