Diversity: The Changing Face of U.S. Classrooms


Nationwide, 4 of 10 students are students of color. In the 25 largest cities, cultural minorities make up over onehalf the student population. Nationally, 5 million students (10%) of the students are English Language Learners (ELLs). Socioeconomic differences in students are pervasive and influence school success.
