SELECTION PROCESS INVOLVES...


After initial screening applications are selected on 1:5 ratio. Initial Online Psychometric test. Applicant then faces first stage interview and is offered initial OJE On Job Experience. Successful completion of OJE leads to final interview.

ON JOB EXPERIENCE.....
OJE is a 2-day assessment in a restaurant. It serves two purposes:

Evaluate the candidates customer service skills against whats needed to be a successful member of the McDonalds team. It allows the candidate to see if the McDonalds highenergy environment suits their preferred style of working.

TRAINING @ McDonalds

WELCOME MEETING...
McDonalds inducts all new employees into the business through a Welcome Meeting, which they must attend. The Welcome Meeting gives an overview of the Company, including: job role food, hygiene and safety training policies and procedures administration benefits training and development.

STRUCTURED DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME...

Crew trainers work shoulder-to-shoulder with trainees while they learn the operations skills necessary for running each of the 11 workstations in each restaurant, from the front counter to the grill area. All employees learn to operate state-of- the-art foodservice equipment, gaining knowledge of McDonalds operational procedures. Majority of the training is floor based. They will also attend classroom-based training sessions where they complete workbooks for quality, service and cleanliness.

APPRAISAL GRADING...
This is done using Observation Checklists for the station they are working at. The restaurants do promote crew members to hourlypaid management positions that carry accountability for areas within the restaurant, or responsibility for a shift.

Management Development Curriculum


For people who plan to build their career in McDonalds This consists of on-the-job training and open learning development modules, supported by courses and seminars at the Companys National and Regional Training Centres. Aimed at persons aged 21 or over, either graduates or individuals with some previous management experience. It offers a direct route into restaurant management, through an intensive structured training programme.
