Duraloy History

The Heyward Family started Duraloy in 1930 as centrifugal and static foundry. In 1970, Duraloy became Duraloy Blaw-Knox as part of Blaw Knox Division of White Consolidated Industries. National Alloy, a major high temperature alloy developer, was merged into Duraloy. In 1984, General Alloy Foundry, a manufacturer of abrasion resistant castings, was purchased by Duraloy.

Duraloy Current Situation

In 1994, Duraloy was purchased by Park Corporation, a 2 billion US dollar private corporation, and became Duraloy Technologies, Inc. In 1997, Park Corporation purchased Manoir Electroalloys, the USA operations of Fonderies et Aciers Manoir. Previously, the foundry was Abex Corporation. This operation was merged into Duraloy in 1999. In 2005, Duraloy purchased the manufacturing assets of Ultracast Foundry, formerly Kokomo Tube in Peru, Indiana.

Hot Press Forming Platens and Tools

Duraloy and predecessor company Electroalloys have manufactured hot press forming platens in proprietary alloys for over 25 years. In the past 10 years, Duraloy has manufactured over 100 press platens either as-cast or completely machined. Platens can be cast in a variety of sizes up to a pour weight of 6,350 kg
