MORPH ????
A wearable device that changes shape, detects toxins on your food, draws power from the sun, and repels a drop of honey. It demonstrates how future mobile devices might be stretchable and flexible, allowing the user to transform their mobile device into radically different shapes.
accordingly. Connects automatically to global services and communities. Interconnects local intelligence, temperature changes, air pollution, your heart rate.
ITS A GATEWAY..
Mobile devices together with the intelligence that will be embedded in human environments home, office, public places will create a new platform that enables sensing, computing and communication.
Sensing Actuation Embedding intelligence into the environment Power efficient computing Memory Energy sources Human machine interaction Materials Mechanics Manufacturing and environmental issues.
Consider 10000 transistors being fitted on a single fly hair, the nanostructure of Morph is similar to this
Nano flowers
Nano scale mesh Nano tube
DIGGING DEEP.
Nanoscale sensors Nanowire lithography on silicon
FEATURES OF MORPH
Self cleaning Advanced power sources
Wearable device
Mimicking spider silk Transparent electronics Recycling
SELF CLEANING
The surface of morph is super hydrophobic that makes it extremely dirt repellent. It have nanostructured surfaces, such as Nanoflowers naturally repel dirt, water, and fingerprints utilizing effects can also work in good manner and naturally.
NanoFlower
HAPTIC SURFACE
Touch sensitive and responsive [haptic] surface of Morph is provided by large area sensing surfaces using piezoelectric nanowire arrays.
STRETCHABLE
It has embedded active electronics in elastic structures (sensors, actuators, circuitry ),Ordered nanoscale internal structures for controlling the elasticity.
WEARABLE DEVICE
This device can be wear as a clock on wrist also. This devices can change their colour according to the user wish.
TRANSPARENT ELECTRONICS
Transparent Resistive Random Access Memory (TRRAM) developed by Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) is the major platform for the transparent electronics concept of morph.
RECYCLING
Utilization of Biodegradable materials might make production and recycling of devices easier and ecologically friendly.
Future possibilities
Physical and digital worlds fuse Computational medicine and the individual care
Limitations
The initial manufacturing cost is very high. The expected
market price is around Rs.60,000. Conventional DSSCs(Dye-Sensitized Solar Cell)provides unstability related to solvent leakage and evaporation. Stretchable batteries have not yet being discovered.
Future Scope
The shapes could be made much more simpler like in Ring
Conclusion
According to the developers, nanotechnology can lead to low cost manufacturing solutions as well as adjustable, empowering devices bringing us new, versatile possibilities. These mobile devices will be flexible, stretchable and shape changing so that they can be easily integrated in our everyday routines without special adjustments on our part.
