This work is dedicated to our parents for their hard support, and our teacher for teaching us everyday to achieve our goals in the future.

PRESENTACION:
In this work we will introduce you the beautiful, wonderful and special Collca Canyon. A tourist site visited by many foreigners for their customs, traditions and dances.

THE COLCA CANYON

The Collca Canyon, located in Caylloma province (Arequipa)

Its name comes from the profusion of "Collca" in the region. Collca are repositories for storing grain.

The landscape is formed by terraced - farming terraced - technique used by the Incas and supported by a complex irrigation system, both natural and artificial.

Reaching an extraordinary level of development in hydraulic engineering

The Collca Canyon is home to animals like the Andean condor including 100 species of birds.

Four types of camelids: vicuna, guanaco, llama and alpaca. In addition there are over 300 species of plants.

Although most impressive sight provides the Collca Canyon

Formed by erosion of the Collca River, with an area of approximately 70 km.

The Collca Canyon formation must have started around about 10 million years ago,

But its current form probably corresponds to the last million years, i.e. The Quaternary

The Collca Canyon is one of the most important tourist attractions of the southern region of Peru.

He is admired for its great depth, its stunning natural beauty and cultural riches.

For adventure sports lovers, the Collca Canyon is the ideal place for trekking, hiking and rafting.

This canyon is also visited to view and photograph the largest bird in the world: the Condor.

This bird similar to a vulture goes hunting early in the morning and late at night.

Most condors are between December and March in the coast due to the rainy season in the Andes.

Road to the deepest part of the canyon, you can see the mysterious Toro Muerto. This cemetery of the Wari culture is built at 90 from the mountainside. It's hard to believe that these people brought their dead to this place because it is a difficult place to climb up to the more experienced climber.

The dead were buried in a fetal position, as they used to do in the rest of Peru in ancient times. "The man must start from the same way you came," read his Bible unwritten.

The most visited tourist attraction, is in the department of Arequipa is the Collca Canyon,

The Collca Canyon is located in the northeast of Arequipa region Caylloma province, 165 kilometers from Arequipa and Chivay 40 km from the main town and capital of Caylloma province.

The highest point of the valley is the Ampato dormant volcano (6288 m) and the lowest at the confluence of the rivers Collca and Andamayo (970 m).

The natural site is also known as "The Valley of Fire" and "The Kingdom of the Condor", among many other names that have been attributed.

In the Collca Valley found 8,000 hectares of land irrigation terraces at the same time prevent soil erosion.

Today has been more than 1,400 years since the construction of these terraces and continue running, allowing planting of potatoes, 32 varieties of corn, 12 to 54 bean and quinoa,

among other products for consumption by the people of the region.

You get to the Collca Canyon after a trip through a rugged landscape dominated by volcanoes,

giving the appearance of being home only for llamas and vicuna ... ..simply paradise

In conclusion: The Collca Canyon is one of the most important tourist sites of Peru and therefore we must conserve and care. All Peruvian brothers united as we are we can save our cultural heritage.
