Fire pumps
Sanitary, ballast, bilge or general service pumps may be accepted as fire pumps, provided that they are not normally used for pumping oil and suitable change-over arrangements are fitted. independently driven fire pumps each capable of delivering at least the two jets passenger ships atleast 3 for > 4000 GT atleast 2 for < 4000 GT cargo ships at least 2 for >1000 GT Arranged such that All fire pump will not be put out of action in case of fire in any space >1000 GT Emergency fire pump with its power source and connections located outside the space of main fire pump, if fire in any compartment could put fire pumps out of service < 1000 GT
