KALISINDH SUPER THERMAL POWER PLANT

IT IS A SUPER CRITICAL THERMAL POWER PLANT.
CURRENTLY HAS 2 UNITS EACH PRODUCING 600

MW A TOTAL OF 1200MW. AFTER COMLETION OF REMAINING 2 UNITS IT WILL PRODUCE 2520 MW OF ELECTRICITY . BY THEN IT WILL BE THE EIGHTH LARGEST ELECTRICITY PRODUCING POWER PLANT. IT PRODUCES 24 MILLION UNITS OF ELECTRICITY

IT HAS A WORLD RECORD HOLDER COOLING

TOWER WITH A TOWERING HEIGHT OF 202

METRES.
8 MILLION HOMES ARE GETTING THE ELECTRICITY ESTABLISHED WITH AN INVESTMENT OF OVER

RS156,430 MILLION. PRESENTLY CONSUMES OVER 20000 METRC TONNES OF COAL. PROVIDES EMPLOYMENT TO 3200 PEOPLE. A TOTAL OF 71400 METRIC TONNES OF STEEL WAS USED TO CONSTRUCT THE PLANT.

Introductory overview
A thermal power station is a power plant in which the prime mover is steam driven. Water is heated, turns into steam and

spins a steam turbine which drives an electrical generator. After it passes through the turbine, the steam is condensed in a condenser and recycled to where it was heated; this is known as a Rankine cycle. The greatest variation in the design of thermal power stations is due to the different fuel sources. Some prefer to use the term energy center because such facilities convert forms of heat energy into electricity.

*BOILER*
Water tube boiler is used in this plant. Steam pressure at inlet is 39.2 bar . In this boiler , water is flow in the tube in furnace . Steam produces in tube & it collect in a drum which is situated on the top of boiler . Then steam goes to turbine .

PRIMARY FAN : supply the pulverized coal to the

furnace. FORCED DRAUGHT FAN : air is forced into the boiler under pressure. INDUCED DRAUGHT FAN : suction is created at the furnace. Pressure in the furance is below atm.

Steam turbine generator

The turbine generator consists of

a series of steam turbines interconnected to each other and a generator on a common shaft. There is a high pressure turbine at one end, followed by an intermediate pressure turbine, two low pressure turbines, and the generator. As steam moves through the system and loses pressure and thermal energy it expands in volume, requiring increasing diameter and longer blades at each succeeding stage to extract the remaining energy. The entire rotating mass may be over 200 metric tons and 100 feet (30 m) long.

INTRODUCTION
THE STEAM AFTER DOING WORK IN THE

TURBINE IS EXHAUSTED IN THE CONDENSER WHERE IT IS CONVERTED INTO WATER BY GIVEN HEAT TO COOLING WATER. THE CONDENSATE IS SUPPLIED TO BE USED AGAIN IN THE CYCLE FOR PRODUCING STEAM.

*ELECTROSTATIC PRECIPITATOR*
Electrostatic precipitator is consists of a large number of collecting electrodes. In it dust particles are charged and stick to the electrodes , hammer hit electrode and dust fall down . Dust is collect in base of ESP . Then dust is removed by air HOPPER. Transparent smoke find out in chimney .

DEAERATOR
A deaerator is a device that is widely used for the

removal of oxygen and other dissolved gases from the feed water to steam generating boilers. In particular dissolved oxygen in boiler feed water will cause serious corrosion damage in steam system by attaching to the walls of metal piping and other metallic equipment and forming oxides.
