INTRODUCTION
Retention is the process of developing and implementing practices that reward and supports employees. Retention of the key employees is critical to the long term health and success of any organization. It ensures better customer satisfaction, increased product sales, effective succession planning and deeply imbedded organizational knowledge and learning.

NEED OF THE STUDY


The study focuses retention strategies. This study is

undertaken to assess the employee retention strategies. Employee turnover has been identified as a potential obstacle, in implementing strategies This is one of the uncertainties the companies face in internal processes. This might significantly associated efficiency, development, involvement and training of the employees

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY


To assess the retention strategies of Investleaf

Management Solutions To study the impact of the dimensions job satisfaction, selection & training, compensation, recognition and work life balance on employee retention To suggest measures that improves employee retention.

SCOPE OF THE STUDY


The study covers 100 employees of Investleaf Management Solutions, Hyderabad who represent employees from finance, administration and development teams.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Research Design:

Preparation of research design should be done with great cure as any error in it may upset the entire project. Research design in fact, has a great bearing on the reliability of the results arrived at and as such constitutes the firm foundation of the entire edifice of the research work Descriptive Research Design: To take descriptive research to know the present state of affaires as it exists. It describes the facts about the characteristics about the particular individual/ situation in Investleaf Management Solutions, Hyderabad. It helps to discover the cause for particular behavior of individual/group employees in this organization.

Data Sources:
Primary data

The data which are collected a fresh for the first time, and these happen to be original in character. So, the information is to be gathered from the employees at Investleaf Management Solutions. The questionnaire is the main instrument used to collect. Secondary data: Secondary data may be either published data or unpublished data. Secondary data that is already available or the data that have already been collected and analyzed be some one else. Secondary data collected from books and magazines. Information can be collected through web sites, articles and magazines and through internet.

Sampling Methodology:
Sample Size: The sample size is calculated as 90 using the
following formula. The variance is 7.9 calculated on the basis of experience of employees, ranging from 2 to 10 years. n = Z N p (N-1) e+Z p Here, Z=Standard variate at a given confidence level N=Size of population n=Size of sample e= acceptable error(precision) p= Standard deviation of population Sample design: The research design is simple random sampling, in which each and every item in the population has an equal chance of inclusion in the sample.

Hiring and retaining good employees have become the chief concerns of nearly every company in every industry

Ten steps for motivating retention :


Provide pay rate increases or bonuses for service periods,

i.e., 3 months, 6 months, 1 year. Celebrate service milestones, i.e., one-year anniversary with photos, lunch, etc. Recognize the contribution of part-time employees with full-time status. Invest in employees by providing training opportunities. Pay equitably and provide competitive benefits. Frequently and personally express appreciation to employees. Assign each employee a committed and positive mentor/buddy. Promote from within. Know your employees and their life changes. Connect with the employees' families by sending family welcome gifts, newsletters, etc.
