FLAT PLAN OVERVIEW POSTER 1 AND 2

Image covers the whole background. The background image will feature a teenager, looking sad/homeless on the streets. The majority of the image will be the streets (not in focus) the teenager will be on the left hand side of the image in the corner so there is room for the text. The text will be a question depending on which poster, it will be directed to either the volunteers or hosts asking for help ( a rhetorical emotive question to appeal to their emotions). For the poster aimed at homeless teenagers it will be a question similar to do you have a place to stay tonight?. SASH Logo, and slogan. Contact details and how the volunteers can help, or who to call or where to go for a young homeless person who needs emergency place to stay.

FLAT PLAN - COLOR SCHEME IDEA 2

Color scheme- This is a pastel collection of sunset colors including deep pink, deep red, orange, yellow and purple. Pros- This color scheme will stand out well and be appealing to a young person and host. Ban negative homeless stereotypes . Cons- The color scheme might appeal more to the female sex, as well as having negative color connotations (for example red).

FLAT PLAN - FONT IDEAS

1. PW Scholar paper font would work well for the poster aimed at homeless teenagers, as they can potentially relate to the font as it is meant to be like school handwriting. 2. Orange Juice is another font that could work well on poster 1 that is aimed at young people, as it looks like it has been drawn and is quite friendly. 3. Green Pilloww is another font that is quirky and would work well on a poster aimed at a young person as it is off a famous film, that a young person could relate. They might recognize the font which will make the poster more appealing as it will feel familiar.
4. Maybe Maybe Not is another font that would work well on either a poster aimed at young people or a poster aimed at potential hosts, as its a bold font and has an urban feel as well as a young one which doesnt make it too intimidating.

FLAT PLAN- FONT IDEAS

5. Although this font works well with the theme of young people being on the street. It does however create stereotypes that potential hosts may seem as negative. 6. Distort you a lesson is another font that will work well for either the main section of text, if I wanted the tone of the poster to be shocking. It could make people feel bad and make them want to volunteer, or it could have the negative affect and discourage people from volunteering. 7. Staubiges Vergngen is another font that would work well if used on the poster aimed at potential hosts as the font makes the teenager seem isolated and lost, as the letters are spread out and wonky on the page, this is a good font to appeal to their emotions.
8.Erasdust is a good font for the poster aimed at young people as it doesnt seem intimidating and friendly. It could also work well on the poster aimed at hosts, however it wouldnt be as shocking as some of the others, but could be less risky of creating homeless or teenage stereotypes.

FLAT PLAN - IMAGERY

(Image idea 1)
Potential Images I could use, could have a homeless young person and someone clearly offering help. This could be shown by a host offering a hand to the teenager or sitting next to them, similar as in this photograph.

(Image idea 2)

Another image idea I could use could be of a vulnerable young person at the lower end of the age range, at the far side with a lot of background that text can be put over.

Important considerations about images that I should consider include;

-The tone of the image, whether it is uplifting or whether it is an emotive image that is either shocking or upsetting to appeal to potential volunteers/hosts emotions. -The model used in the photograph, if I use a younger teenager it could make them appeal more vulnerable, this also works well with gender stereotypes, as girls usually seem more vulnerable and potentially less intimidating for a host. -I should also consider the background of the images, I could either use a suburban background to make it look like homelessness can happen to anyone with any background which might appeal more to ordinary teenagers which is usually the case that they lived somewhere like that. On the other hand the background of the image for the second poster aimed at the volunteers could be more extreme which could make them feel bad, however if the background image is too off putting, I will have to make sure the teenager in the photograph isn't intimidating, so they are more likely to feel sorry for them.
