EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
I had done my summer internship program(SIP) from AZTECH the
channel partner of TATA Tele services Ltd.(TTSL) one of the leader of
telecom sector. The focus of my project is on Wireless Broadband
connection. TTSL provide Photon+ which is a USB device with high
speed internet access capability. In the 60 days duration project I worked
out with different categories in Private and Public Sectors Companies.

The objective of my project was:-

To study the level of prospective customers of Wireless Broadband


connection in the Private and Public Sectors Companies.
Promote the product in-front of prospective customers.
 Try to convert the prospective customer in to buyer.
COMPANY DETAILS
TATA Teleservices Limited (TTSL) incorporated in 1996, is a part of the
TATA Group of companies.

The Board of Directors for TTSL includes Tata Son’s Chairman Mr. Ratan
N. Tata, while the company is currently headed by its Managing Director, Mr.
Anil Kumar Sardana.

TTSL has over 87 companies, over 330,000 employees and more than 2.8
million shareholders.

TATA Teleservices was the first to launch CDMA mobile services in India
with the Andhra Pradesh circle.

TTSL operates under the brand name Tata Indicom in various telecom circles
of India.
COMPANY DETAILS
The company is the market leader in the fixed wireless telephony market
with a total customer base of over 36 million.

TATA Indicom’s enterprise solutions work on the CDMA 3G-1X


technology.

TATA Teleservices has also acquired GSM licenses for specific circles in
India.

The total tower strength of Tata Indicom is currently at 12,500 towers


nationwide.

TATA Teleservices has recently launched the Virgin Mobile Brand to target
the youth segment.

Tata Teleservices Limited has launched their Photon+ USB data card
service in Kolkata on March 2009. Photon+ is a small USB data card
which when you plug into USB port of your laptop/PC ,will connect you to
the high speed (up to 3.1 mbps) broadband Internet through Tata network.
It is a mobile Internet Service.

TATA Indicom has 300 photon enabled towers.

This service is presently available only in selected areas of Hyderabad,


Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai, Jaipur, Mumbai, Jammu & Kashmir & North
East States.
WIRELESS BROADBAND

Features of Photon+ USB Mobile Broadband service :-


20 times faster - data rates up to 3.1 Mbps.
Compatible with both laptops notebooks & desktop PCs.
The Photon+ service will be accessible via both USB Modems and
Routers, thus catering to consumer and business segments.
Compatibility between HSIA and CDMA 1X coverage/mode.
It offers easy ’self installation’ with LAN/WLAN connectivity and
OS support for Windows 2000/XP/Vista and Mac OS X.

TATA is the first company who lunch wireless broadband connection


in Kolkata.
At present TATA and Reliance are two companies who provide high
speed wireless Internet connection in Kolkata.
Both company claims same speed(3.1Mbps). With different tariff
plan.
Tata Indicom Photon+ offer Huawei. Reliance Netconnect
Broadband+ offers a choice of Huawei and ZTE. Both companies fixed
their device price same(Rs.3500).

CONCLUTION
End of my project I fined that:-

Most of the customers are price conscious and some of the customers are
brand conscious.
They ready to pay money if they get better service.
There are lots of customers who are not aware about the high speed
wireless broadband but they know about the data card.
I found that lot of the customer are ready to switch over due to bad
experience with the connection they are using.
The companies should give efficient and effective services if they do that
they can easily captured new customer who have bad experience with their
brand.
I fined that there is a need of wireless broadband in corporate offices for
uninterrupted net connection.
CONCLUTION
I have given rank to different factors responsible for demand/need of the
Wireless Broadband connection. These factors are as follows:-
