ATS relay control Generator Start Principle

There is ATS relay sensor, Normal status is OPEN. When CP OFF, the sensor is active, relay is change to CLOSE . Then AMF remote start the Generator. When CP is ON, the sensor is active, and relay is change to OPEN. Then AMF remote stop the Generator.

Serial Connect Rectifier D.G. control relay

After W301 D.G. control relay(Normal Open) serial connect with ATS relay, then D.G. start was controlled by 2factors . When CP OFF, ATS sensor act, then battery discharge, when D.C voltage<D.G start voltageDC Low Volt & Batt Volt Low), then CSU relay act, both relay are changed to CLOSE . Then AMF remote start the Generator. When CP is ON, the sensor is active, and circuit is OPEN, then AMF remote stop the Generator. When Generator charging battery, and Capacity 100% achieved it stops the DG.

How to find 2relay port?----ATS Relay

If you dont know ATS control, D.G. maintenance guy can find it easy. You can find the relay at AMF side or ATS box side.

Function verify at site with Manual Mode

1st change the Generator Mode to Manual in CSU Batt Para(password:0063).

After Manual Mode testing , change back Generator mode to Auto, and test with Auto Mode!
2nd Switch OFF CP(@MCCB) before ATS, make sure ATS relay is act. 3rd find GEN Ctrl in CSU Ctrl menu, Turn On/Off GEN to verify the function of CSU relay.

D.G. Auto start&stop testing @Auto Mode

1st MCCB switch OFF, ATS relay act. 2nd change the DC Low Vol. & Batt. Low Volt as 53.0V in CSU Batt Para(password:0063).

3rd When DC voltage & Batt Volt<53.0V, then the CSU relay act, and DG start automatically. 4th a. MCCB CB switch ON, ATS relay is act and DG close. 4th b. MCCB CB is always OFF, DG running to charge battery, when Real Time data Batt Cap is reach to 100%, then CSU relay act and DG close.

After testing, change back DC low & Batt. Low voltage setting as 47.5V in Battery Para

GEM active Alarm

GEM Active alarm: Its port is SIU Output port 1(Comm1 and NO1), also need to configure Battery Discharge output relay as A1. Below are the steps in Para Settings Para Set > (Password0063)> Alarm Attri. > Batt Discharge > Relay > A1 > (> Means Enter) Take it from b/m slide port and patch it at DDF port 5(White/Grey). For testing just power Off AC breaker and Site on batteries then GEM active alarm appears.
