Induction should be held as soon as the new employee begins work If department is desperately shorthandedsupervisors reluctant to release the workercould consider to hold mini induction of not more than 1 or 2 hours or preparing handouts and videotapes for minimum coverage of key areas No hard and fast rule as to how long the induction programme should be
