INTRODUCTION:The main aim of this paper is to identify a perpetrator of crime by using finger printing technology. Brain finger printing is a new era to identify the perpetrator of a crime by measuring his brain wave responses to crime relevant words or pictures presented on computer screen.

WHY BRAIN FINGER PRINTING??

Brain finger printing comes into play when there is no strong peripheral evidence in the crime. The secret of brain finger printing is to match evidence at the crime scene with evidence in the brain.

How brain finger printing works?

Brain finger printing measures electrical brain activity in response to crime relevant words or pictures and reveals a brain MERMER (memory and encoding related multifaceted eletroencephalographic response) when and only when , the evidence stored in the brain matches the evidence from the crime scene.

A MERMER is a brains electrical response which is a combination of P300 (an electrically positive component ) and other additional electrically negative components. P300:The response which is generated in persons brain due to neuron activity within 300-1000msec post the stimulus
