Praise & Recognition programme

BOSCH CHASIS SYSTEM CONTROL CHAKAN , PUNE.

THE NEED(MEANING) :THE BOSCH ASSOCIATES ARE THE MOST important asset that it possesses for the growth and success of the company. Praise and recognition + feedback is a good method to squeeze out the best adequate results or output and is highly recommended for effective leadership. It can be given to an individual or to a team/department, in return to their outstanding efforts and achievements. Special programme and extraordinary engagement should be honored by special payment (incl. special budget) or incentives for their perpetual efficiency in work.

Initial condition :In this plant, sometimes praise & recognition is given to the employees accidently (verbal basis), which is not adequate to regard the persons performance; but there is still an opportunity to plan and implement a standard process in the company to praise and recognize them. Most of the times a persons achievement remains unseen by all of the company members, i.e. one becomes unrecognized. Thus, an organized programme can be implemented so as to develop success attitudes among the employees and overall improve the companys profitability and output.

Best practices that can be chalked down in the P&R programme : A praise and recognition session should be organized (on regular basis either monthly or quarterly , aiming at praising and recognizing the direct/indirect contribution made by the worker towards the improvement of the organization's atmosphere and to the sustainability of the companys progress. A P&R team can selected , including members from each department, (the team member will be responsible to keep a regular check and record over the achievements and contributions mad by the employees towards the organization's benefits,

and then henceforth, mention those records in the P&R meeting.. This will help in recognizing every individual in the company, increasing there work efficiency and also know person will remain unseen or ignored. Suggestion session ( these should be regularly followed up, which may include inviting of suggestions from the employs and then the best suggestion should be considered for awarding the suggester) The P&R atmosphere ( verbal and writing communication should be included in the companies culture , i.e. one on one praise and recognition should be done in front of rest of rest of the people in the company or on an individuals success / achievement a note or an email of appreciation should be forwarded).

Life contribution: the company superiors should publically recognize and praise associates for the following achievements in an organized ceremony :5,10,15,20,25-, years of bosch service anniversary. Inventions .

P&R strategy :The award being the most important factor of P&R programme, the performance evaluation is essential. Performance evaluation is to be done by P&R team and the superiors every six months and should be totally transparent to the employees. The parameters for assessment and the weight age of each should be known to the employees; there should be no surprises or after thoughts. Some of these parameters for evaluation are shown as an example in the next displayed table :-

SOME OTHER PARAMETERS THAT CAN BE CONSIDERED FOR EVALUATING THEIR PERFORMANCE, ON WHICH THEY CAN BE EVALUATED FOR AWARD WINNING ARE :Efforts on new products and packs Performance on industrial business Adding and developing new markets and outlets Handling market complaints Feedback from customers on service levels Timely submission of reports.

Advantages expected through the scheme :This system would allow any associate recognize the other one (throughout BOSCH) through their contribution. P&R may a link to one or more of the BOSCH values. Maximize profitability of the company.
