Use the past tense of be

(was , were) to talk about things in the past.

Affirmative Form

Negative Form

Question Form.

VERBS are words to speak about ACTIONS ...

like SEE, WATCH, EAT, LIVE, LOVE, RUN, HATE, LEARN

In English, most verbs are REGULAR. That means they form their PAST FORM by adding ED, like these :

PAST
ASKED

ANSWER
WASH CALL LOOK START

ANSWERED
WASHED CALLED LOOKED STARTED

When the verbs end in E, you just add D to When the PAST verbs : end in form the Y, you change it into I LOVE - LOVED and add ED : LIVE - LIVED CRY - CRIED
CARRY - CARRIED

Past form of irregular verbs are all different ... and you have to learn them !!

Focus in this :
You DID NOT WORK enough.

The affirmative form is:

You WORKED enough.

DID is used with all subjects.

Juliet LOVED Romeo.


Her father DID NOT LOVE her enough. They LOCKED the castle. The guard DID NOT LOCK the castle. Simpson family LIVED in Springfield. They DIDNT LIVE in Memphis. Elvis DANCED wonderfuly.
