consumption of alcohol causes dependency on alcohol. Habitual drinker is called an alcoholic.

as a Sedative (decrease functional efficiency) Depressant (lowers the activities of CNS) Anaesthetic (causes loss of sensation) Reduces the efficiency of every system

Effects on body

SKIN:Causes

facial flushing. BRAIN And NERVOUS SYSTEM: Depresses the CNS. LIVER: Causes fatty liver ,hepatitis ,liver cancer, and liver cirrhosis. HEART: Causes coronary heart disease , hypertension, heart failure. DIGESTIVE SYSTEM: Causes gastritis and ulcers. URINARY SYSTEM: Causes renal failure.

DRINKING AND DRIVING


Alcohol

and driving do not go together as alcohol causes : a) reduce ability to judge distance b) reduce co-ordination of limbs, head and eyes c) reduce alertness d) reduce field of vision e) changed behaviour

So alcoholism not only puts

the life of the driver in danger but also of many innocent people. Lets see how.

She was 20 years old when the car she was riding in was hit by another car that was driven by a 17-year old male student on his way home after drinking a couple of hard packs with his friends. This was in December 1999
