COURSE DESCRIPTION
This entrepreneurship course aims to develop an awareness of its importance in economic development of our society.
Students will gain a basic understanding about specific aspects of entrepreneurship as an independent new venture, opportunity recognition and identifying real business opportunity. Emphasis will be on building basic skills of an entrepreneur including teambuilding, communication and leadership in addition to key skills in opportunity recognition and evaluation.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course will be interactive in nature, with lectures, group activities and mini presentations.

Guest speakers will be invited to share their expert knowledge and perspectives in selected sessions.
Several class activities will assist students to identify their own personal goals and their potential skills related to entrepreneurial process. The outcome of this course is to develop and present an enterprise project plan.

AFTER TAKING THE COURSE, STUDENTS SHOULD BE ABLE TO:


Gain insight into the field of entrepreneurship by understanding the characteristics and mindset of entrepreneurs; Identify the key success factors required of an entrepreneur;

Assess personal strength and weaknesses;


Understand self and team building; Recognize and evaluate opportunities within the market place;

AFTER TAKING THE COURSE, STUDENTS SHOULD BE ABLE TO:


Develop and present a real business idea; Identify and evaluate opportunities within the marketplace, both for new venture creation and within existing organization. a business plan; Create an innovative marketing plan, and ultimately being able to lead the process of turning the opportunity into reality;

AFTER TAKING THE COURSE, STUDENTS SHOULD BE ABLE TO: Describe the basic marketing, financial, legal and economic concepts to be used for a business plan;
Explain cash flow and the various methods to improve cash flow;

Learn a number of successful strategies and common mistakes from current and accomplished entrepreneurs and investors who will guest speak in class.

TEACHING TECHNIQUES
A variety of teaching techniques will be used in this class which includes: PowerPoint lectures, case studies, electronic software practices class discussions. Reading and writing assignments and team activities are required..

Guest speakers will be invited.

TEACHING TECHNIQUES

This will be a highly interactive class: creative thinking, provocative questions and real world experiences will be shared. Communication skills, oral in class and written in reports is essential students must learn how to present their ideas in business-like manner.

COURSE POLICIES
This course makes extensive use of in-class activities/discussions. Attendance is critical and will be taken regularly. Active participation is important. Quality of participation will weigh heavily in determining borderline grades.
Assignments are due at the beginning of class. Students may take a penalty for not turning in an assignment at the beginning of class.
