AIM Provide Thermal Comfort

To Increase: Technical Knowledge & Professional Skills, To Reduce: Human Errors at sites, Trouble shooting time, Number of Repeated Alarms Maintenance Cost.
4

SCOPE

Build a project team aware to use method(s) & technique(s) to form a Cooling System by locally available resources i.e. materials & manufacturing techniques and be able to run & maintain it.

Safety Points
Always follow instructions. Keep the work area clean. Keep flammable and combustible items away from spark producing activities. Know where the emergency stop buttons are positioned in the workshop. Always be patient, never rush in the working area. Keep hands away from moving/rotating machinery.

Designing Parameters
Heat Load Calculations: Outside temp -5 C to +50 C

Room size 15 X 10 Heat due to opaque surfaces Heat due to fenestration Internal Loads ( equipment ) Total Load = 1866.2 W = 732 W = 2689.66 W = 5.287 kW

Designing Parameters

Heat Load Cabin Relative Humidity Evaporator Temperature Refrigerant Used

= 5.287 kW = 40% = 4C = R22

Refrigeration Cycle : Vapor Compression

11

Result

Evaporator Pressure = 3 bar Condenser Pressure = 12 bar Heat Load = 5.287 KW Condenser Cooling Load= 6.308 KW Compressor Work = 1.02 KW Mass Flow Rate = 1.94 l/min

Precautions
Routing of Cable. Routing of Pipes.
Should be routed through areas of low risk Angle of pipe and cable hole should be proper If Cables are installed less than 2.25m above the floor should they normally be protected.

Inspection and Maintenance

Indoor & Outdoor Unit
DAILY WEEKLY Monthly inspections and issue a certificate after each inspection. It is normal practice to be cleaned and checked on each monthly visit so that the entire system has been properly maintained after the fourth visit.

Inspection and Maintenance

Proper cleaning of Condenser and Evaporator.
Keep the air filters clean Keep the indoor evaporator & outdoor condenser coils clean Every year Lubricate Indoor blower motor and outdoor unit fan motor bearings.

Finally, a record should be kept of all maintenance and repairs made to the system. It is always helpful to have a history of the system.
