Problem Statement
 If the BS is setup outside the sensing region, then
routing can easily be managed in clustering.
 Most of the researcher assumed that the sensor nodes
are directly reachable to the Base Station, which is not
a valid assumption.

If the BS is assumed to be
at the center and consider
each ring as a cluster,
then following problems Base
occur. R Station

 Increasing Latency

Problem Statement
 In [7], relay technique for sending data
from upper level rings to lower level
rings and then routed to the BS.

case nearby the
BS is larger.

Problem Statement
 To overcome the problem
Dichotomy Transmission Power control
Strategy was adopted.

When k is an even number, the k, k-1,..k-k/2+1 ring

zone packets will be directly transmitted to the k/2,
k/2-1,..1 ring zone respectively, then direct
transmitted to the sink.
Department of Computer Science 7
Problem Statement
 When k is an odd number, the k, k-
1,..(k+3)/2 ring zone packets will be
directly transmitted to the (k+1)/2, (k-
1)/2,…2 ring zone respectively.

Department of Computer Science 8

Proposed Strategy
BS broadcast different
Transmission power Zone Zone
messages to sensing 2 1
field for making rings.
We assume that all the
BS
nodes in the network R
know their relative
positioning. …2 1

Against each
broadcast message
the nodes that
hear/listen this nR Zone
Zone
message set their ring 4
3
ID to msg ID, and reply
back to BS with its
location and energy
Department of Computer Science 9
Proposed strategy
 As the network size increases, then again
the same problem to be identified i.e. of
intra cluster routing.
 So at that stage dividing each zone into
further sub zone.
 Through this way more cluster will be
formed, but at the end energy efficient
communication will be.
