Survey Objectives

A conscious and continual effort aimed to improve the quality of work life and accommodation , so as to increase motivation and improve results. To understand the extent and levels of satisfaction among workers. To get useful insights into the SWOT areas To devise and implement organizational strategies

Executive Summary
A comprehensive survey conducted across all Dulsco Accommodations in the UAE. Measuring and analyzing the level of satisfaction among workers depending upon various pre-categorized dimensions(discussed in depth ahead). A total of 2703 workers out of a total of 4400 residing in company accommodations were involved in the survey which is nearly 61 % of the companys workforce The findings and recommendations of this survey are likely to aid the Dulsco management in getting highly accurate insights into the workers perception and facilitate decision making that would help in simultaneous growth of the company as well as the workers.

Here, an attempt was made to understand workers opinion on how they feel as being a vital part of Dulsco.

Work Environment

Is the Work Allotted Interesting? Clear about work related expectations? Treated with respect at work? Whether supervisor can be approached without hesitation ? Getting sufficient assistance from the Supervisor? Getting Performance feedback from supervisor to improve work? Happy with the Transport Facility ?

Here, the focus remained on understanding how the workers rate their overall work environment in terms of type of work , role of the supervisor and transport facility provided by Dulsco.

Training and Learning Opportunity

Provided sufficient training to perform the current job? Training beneficial for professional growth? Interested in attended training sessions ?

Dulsco has always been keen on providing various forms of trainings like Safety training , Language classes(English and Arabic),etc. Here, an attempt was made to know as to what extent do the workers acknowledge the same.

Recognition

Receive praise/recognition for good performance? Whether Dulsco has a good system of recognizing Employees? Do the Awards like Best employee, Spot Award and Client Appreciation help motivate and bring out the best ?
This was an endeavor to know whether or not the workers believe in the entire recognition system of the company and its role in motivating them.

Welfare
Been provided good accommodation facilities like library , internet caf, Sports, etc ? Happy to utilize the facilities provided? Realize that only few companies in UAE provide such accommodation facilities? Taken care-of by the Company ?
An attempt to understand the level of satisfaction among workers from the wide range of facilities provided at the accommodation.

Basic Salary is very low Transportation Timings should improve and number of vehicles should increase Not getting to perform work that matches existing qualification and skillset . Internet Connection: Wireless network not available to all Hygiene conditions: Dining areas , kitchen and washrooms not clean enough.

About Dulsco

Lets provide an environment that facilitates and promotes opportunities for workers to grow. Growth is linked to promotion chances as well as enough opportunities to perform different types of jobs over the years. This would ensure that the workers actually enjoy working in Dulsco, thereby leading to loyalty.

Work environment

First and foremost, lets provide the type of work that matches the qualification and ability of the worker. To the extent possible try to increase number of Transport Vehicles Supervisors need to understand the role of regular feedback

Training and learning Opportunities

Training has been the most positively rated dimension by the workers. One of the suggestions that came from the workers themselves is to issue certificates for all the training that Dulsco provides This would increase the motivation and create further interest as workers would value the efforts put in to train them , even more.

Recognition
Persevere and improve in giving various awards-financial as well as non financial This would foster an environment of competition in performance as well as behavioral aspects.

Welfare system

facilities such as Gym, Workers acknowledge the

Library, Internet Cafe provided by Dulsco. However, they feel they do not get enough time to avail or utilize these facilities. That is something that should be looked into. Look in to the basic accommodation problems like hot bathing water, hygiene conditions as these are prior to any other advanced facilities.

The 2012 Worker Satisfaction survey has been another step forward in understanding grievances, problems, opinions and most importantly, the satisfaction level of the workers. Its important to focus upon the areas that require improvement and at the same time consolidate on the high performing areas. Dulsco has been acknowledged by the workers for the facilities which only a few companies in the region provide. This survey aims to play an important role in aiding managerial decision making as far as worker welfare is concerned.
