I Know Whom I Believed

The Apostle Paul had a similar kind of faith.

For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed:

for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

Pauls final (preserved letter). Written at the height of Christian persecution during the time of Emperor Nero. Paul was in prison. Paul was old, imprisoned as a criminal, deserted by most of his friends, aware that his ministry was over and aware that his death is near. Theme: Steadfast Endurance

The Cause Is Worth Suffering For!

If we died with him, we will also live with him. If we endure, we will also reign with him.
2 Tim. 2:11-12

I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.

Paul believed in JESUS CHRIST!

Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is my gospel, for which I am suffering even to the point of being chained like a criminal. (2 Tim.2:8-9) I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me (Galatians 2:20)

Paul knew that JESUS is ABLE!


How? 1. He knew the Scriptures. 2. He had a personal encounter with Jesus. 3. He experienced Gods work in his life. 4. He experienced Gods work in his ministry.

Jesus is our Rescuer. Jesus is the answer to all my needs. Jesus is my Healer. Jesus can calm the storm with just one word.

Theres more to life than living it and trying to make a living.

We were made to WORSHIP GOD.

Work is a form of worship.


Ministry Secular job (Col.3:17) Serving others Sacrifice of our physical bodies (Rom.12:1) Sacrifice of our resources Sacrifice of our comfort (willing to endure hardship for the sake of the gospel)

Worship requires work.
