11. The distance between the two charges of 30 c and 60 c is 200cm.The relative permittivity of the medium is 10.Calculate the force between them. 12. 16. (a) Explain the various types of capacitors and state their applications.

(Or) (b) A circuit consists of three resistors of 12 , 18 , 36 joined in parallel. This combination is put in series with another resistance R. The whole circuit is supplied with 60V and the power dissipated in 12 is 36W. Determine the value of R and power absorbed in the parallel group. 17. (a) Using Thevinins theorem find the current through 3 resistor in the circuit shown below

(Or) (b) By using superstition theorem find the voltages across 5 resistor in the network shown.

18. (a) Derive the expression for the impedance in RLC series circuit. (Or) (b) A resistor of 80 , an inductance of 0.15H and a capacitor of 100F are connected in parallel across 200 V, 50 Hz mains. Calculate the current in each branch, total current and phase angle of the circuit. 19. (a) A series circuit contains a resistance of 4 , inductance of 0.5H and a variable capacitor across 100V, 50Hz supply. Find (i) the capacitance for resonance (ii) the p.d across inductance and capacitance (iii) Q factor. (Or) (b) Three identical coils with resistance of 15 and reactance of 15 are connected in delta across 400V, 3 phase supply. Find the line current and readings on each of the two wattmeters connected to measure the power. 20. (a) Explain the Construction and chemical action of mercury cell (Or) (b) Explain the various defects and their remedies of a lead acid battery.
