I'd love to hear someone on B-3 with Joey D's chops and Gregg Allman's tone. The following comes from a B-3 discussion on the GA area of allmanbrothersband.com. "Jimmy Smiths drawbar settings were usually 858000000, his percussion is usually on the third harmonic and the decay is slow. He also used the chorus

vibrato even though he had a Leslie. For most of Gregg Allmans background chordal playing, he's using the "standard" rock setting of 888000000, with percussion on fast/soft and a C2 or C3 chorus setting (top manual). Dreams is a good example of this sound. Sometimes he'll add a little of the 4' drawbar, and when he's not using percussion, he'll add a little 1' for top-end whistle. I just can't figure out the other two sounds he uses often. His solo sound, like on Elizabeth Reed, and the sound he uses for fills, as in the fast-Leslie sound in Stormy Monday. I think on the latter, he just pulls out the 1' drawbar and backs off on the 8' and 5 1/3' drawbars a bit." Hope this helps... __________________ http://www.asiftrio.org

actually JOS's settings were mainly 888000000, 808000000 ("The Sermon") 8000088888 (the "Errol Garner" sound) and at the very beginning 888000008
