LESSON 1
1.1 INTRODUCTION Organizational Studies encompasses the study of organization s f rom multiple viewpoints, methods and levels of analysis. Organization al study means which studies whole organizations, how they adapt, and th e strategies and structures that guide them. I referred the Organization SEVANA HOSPTIAL AND RESEARCH CENTER (P) Ltd. for th e study of Organization. The aim of Organization study is to obtain inf ormation regarding the complete functioning of Sevana hospital. To achiev e great success in any organization, it is the people who shows th eir talents and motivates itself and worked enthusiastic for th e organ izations .

1.2 OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY PRIMARY OBJECTIVE


To learn the functions of each department and assess the job satisfaction level of each staff in sevana hospital

SECONDARY OBJECTIVE
To identify the factors that influences the employees to select th e job To study the cordial relationship between the management and their expectation from management. To sugges t the measures to the management to improve their performance by enhancing the performance of their employees .

1.3 SCOPE OF THE STUDY


The scope of the study includes study of the functions of various dep artments such as Marketing, Financial, Human Resource, and Service. Th is particular study mainly focuses on Sevana Hospital and Res earch Cen tr e, Pattambi. Following methods are adopted for study: 1. Survey through questionnaires. 2. Collecting data from other sources . 3. Give suggestions to improve the satisfaction of employees. 4. Direct meeting with managers.

1.4 METHODOLOGY
Res earch Methodology means organized analysis of the subject based on the borrowed material with suitable acknowledgement an d consultation in the main body of the paper. Res earch always begins with a ques tion or a problem. Its purpose is to find answers to question s th rough the application of systematic and scientific methods. Research is an academic activity and a systematized effort to gain new knowledge. Th ere are different types of Methodology: They are given as below: 1. Sampling 2. Bar Diagram 3. Questionnaire

SAMPLING The first andforemost task in carrying out a survey is to select th e samp le. Sample selection is under taken for practical impossibility to survey the population. By applying rationality in selection of samples, we generalize the findings of our research. These are different types of samp ling we may categorize this three major heads as follows: 1. Random Sampling 2. Purposive Sampling 3. Stratified samping Th e conventional way of selection of samples uses Random Samling. BAR DIAGRAM A bar diagram is a chart with rectangular bars with length s p roportional to values that may repres ent. Bar diagram are used for comp aring two or more values that were taken over one time or on dif f erent conditions, usually on small data sets . The bars can be h orizontally oriented or vertically oriented. comp are the amount or frequency of Sometimes a stretched occurrence of differen t grap hic is used instead of a solid bar. It is a visual display used to characteris tics of data and it is used to compare groups of data. QUESTIONNAIRE A ques tionnaire is a research instrument consisting of a series of ques tions and other prompts for the purpose of gathering information f rom respondents. The ques tionnaire have was invented over by Sir other Francis types Galton .. Ques tionnaires advantages some

of surveys in that they are cheap, do not require as much effort from th e questioner as verbal or telephone surveys, and often have standardized answers that make it simple to compile data. However, such standardized

answers may frustrate users. Questionnaires are also sharply limited by th e f act that respondents must be able to read the questions and respond to th em. Thus, for some demographic groups conducting a survey by questionnaire may not be practical.

1.5 LIMITATIONS
1. 2. Th e time period of the study is limited to one month. Resp ondents were in a busy environment, so that it is limited to provide accurate data.
