Specifically discuss any training opportunities or other experiences that the student can expect. Diversity issues were addressed in our training in summer and in the follow up training. The training was very thorough, everything from domestic violence to ethnic/racial issues to cross gender. (2.6) Diversity issues are incorporated within my main daily which was answering crisis calls. We work with clients from many different racial/ethnicity groups, economic backgrounds, beliefs and values. When we take a crisis call, we never know who we will get o the phone. (2.6) When taking crisis calls we ask questions (interview) to find out where the client is at in the situation which made them call and also try to find out some history in a way that could help the client be enlightened without leading or persuading. We want the client to be the expert and have them make their own decisions because they are the ones who are going to have to be the ones who live with those choices. (3.4) We also interview, assess, and observe the clients situation to make sure that there is no emanate danger for them or their families especially when children are present. (3.4)(2.6)(3.5)(3.2)
