GET DOWN PSA CAMPAIGN

INTERN BLOGGER SQUAD
GETDOWNPSA.blogspot.com We launched our inaugural social media internship program in Summer 2011. The three youths, representing U. Penn, The College of NJ and Rutgers University, submitting a total of 7 blogs over 10 weeks, covering bullying, sexual behavior and identity. They attended the 6th Annual Iris House Conference Women As The Face of Aids and their first ever NY Pride Parade with our partners FACES NY. The blog by Nelson Morales, Jr., on the one-year anniversary of the Tyler Clementi suicide, went viral.

Thank you for considering me for this [GET DOWN social media] internship. I never thought there would be a writer within me, being that I'm a amateur photographer. I'm glad I had the opportunity to work with you this summer. Because of this internship I learned a great deal about people with HIV, programs that helps LGBT youths, marching in the NY Pride Parade (an opportunity which will be hard to top off in the parades I've been to), and getting one of my pieces recognized on the internet and in my school paper. As a result of the blog post I wrote, I was interviewed by the Home News Tribune (A local paper in Central Jersey) and USA Today College. Thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to work with you.
