The HP Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) management processor ships standard with every ProLiant server.1 Out of the box, iLO simplifies server setup, provides access to server health information, helps optimize server power and thermal control, and enables basic remote administration functions. While HP iLO ships with standard features enabled, you can unlock the iLO feature set with iLO Advanced. The application of an HP iLO Advanced license key gives you instant access to the virtual KVM console, multi-user collaboration, console record and replay, and 24-hour power measurement and single server Dynamic Power Capping. Now, with iLO 3, you can have up to six server administrators globally collaborating via remote console (up to 4 with iLO 2).

Simplified server setup

iLO virtual media, used in conjunction with ROM-based setup, SmartStart, or the SmartStart Scripting toolkit makes it possible for you to configure server boot order, network configuration, RAID settings, and other server parameters as well as deploy your server operating system (OS) in minutes. This enables server administrators to setup servers in remote locations without onsite staff, while reducing travel expenses and time out of the office.

HP SIM intelligently discovers each iLO management processor and associates it with its host servers for one click access to all remote management functions.

The iLO management processor ships standard with ProLiant ML/DL 300, 500, and 700T series servers, ProLiant SL300 series servers as well as all ProLiant BL servers. Out of the box, iLO simplifies server setup by facilitating remote access to embedded configuration tools, provides access to embedded health information, displays current power consumption and temperature readings, and enables access to remote administration functions such as virtual power and unit locator LEDs. For ProLiant BL servers, access to Integrated Remote Console and GUI-based Virtual Media are also part of the standard configuration.
