Joint Venture Relationship Educational institutions normally look forward to create collaboration with an overseas university to conduct programs which either are not currently listed in their offering or would enhance the value of the current offerings. There are various models of partnerships and the same is mentioned below: 1. Branch of an Overseas Campus Branch campus of the respected overseas institution will be solely responsible to deliver and run the day to day of the academics responsibilities. The overseas institution will provide the curriculum/programmes, assessments, staff exchange resources and awarding the degree. The local partner will provide the infrastructure, teaching resources, financial obligations and other administration responsibilities. The overseas institution will need their Senate/Board of Governors approval and support of respective Quality Assurance Agencies The local institution will provide all legal approvals such as licensure and accreditations of all courses delivered on campus in India 2. Accredited Learning Partner The overseas academic institution accredits the local educational institution to be fully capable and ready to deliver their programmes. The local institution in this case will fully be responsible for the academic, administrative and day to day running of the institution.

The overseas partner will provide the curriculum/programmes, assessments and awarding the degrees. The overseas institution will only need the Head of School and the Rector/President/Vice Chancellor to approve the working relationship and delivery of the course in a foreign country The local institution will provide all legal requirements required to deliver the programmes/course in India, fulfil overseas partners infrastructural need, financial liabilities and adhere to the intake regulations on every course as regulated by the overseas institution. 3. Dual Degree Programmes The local institution and the Overseas Academic Partner will deliver a Dual Degree programme where the students will be able to get a degree certificate from India and from the parent campus of the overseas academic partner. Both the partners will map the contents to conduct the Dual Degree programs. 4. Joint Degree Programmes The local institution and the Overseas Academic Partner will deliver a joint degree programme where the curriculum will be a 50/50 mix between both the institutions and the degree awarded will bare credentials of both the institutions. Again this course will have all the required legal approvals from government institutions to legitimise the programme. 5. Franchise programmes The local institution will deliver their own degree but will procure the curriculum/content in a particular specialisation from the overseas academic partner. 6. Establishing of a Specialist Department or School The local institution will collaborate with an overseas academic partner to setup specialist schools where-in local institution does not possess the required IP or intellectual property for example if local institution would like to establish a Oil and Gas School which would deliver courses in that particular field at both u/g and p/g levels. In this case the overseas academic partner will establish this specialist school on behalf of local institution and will run and manage the school on their behalf. In this case local institution will provide all infrastructure costs and financial liabilities incurred in the running of the school and the overseas academic partner will run the day to day operations and the academic responsibility.
