Michigan NOW Announces Its First Round of Endorsements for the August 7, 2012 Primary
48 Well Qualified Candidates Endorsed or Supported including Constance Kelley and Bridget McCormack for the Michigan Supreme Court
The Michigan NOW Political Action Committee and the Michigan NOW State Coordinating Council announces its first set of endorsements in advance of the August 7, 2012 primary. We reviewed over 90 requests for endorsement and urge voters to consider casting their ballots for the 48 candidates we recommend, stated Bobbie Walton, President of Michigan NOW. We had to make some tough choices because there were many good candidates. We were especially pleased to endorse Constance Kelley and Bridget McCormack for the Michigan Supreme Court. In accordance with Michigan NOWs Endorsement Guidelines, incumbent candidates voting record, answers to the candidate questionnaires, and personal knowledge of the candidates were considered in making endorsement or support decisions. Those candidates answering all questions correctly were eligible for a designation of Endorse and may receive a donation from the PAC. Those who answered all or most questions correctly were eligible to receive a designation of Support. In the table attached, E stands for Endorse and S stands for Support. All 48 are worthy of a vote from those who support womens rights issues, Walton continued. The candidate questionnaire forms are available at www.michnow.org/pac. Candidates can submit them on-line. Candidate requests submitted after June 6 are being considered and will be announced at a later date.
