POSITION TITLE: US Technical Sales Representative – Intermediates for Agrochemicals

1. COMPANY PROFILE: Lamberti USA Inc. is a manufacturer of specialty chemicals for


different industries and applications, such as oilfield, ceramics, building, agro, textiles &
personal care. Our U.S. technological & manufacturing portfolio includes surfactants, esters
and oleochemical derivatives, guar gum derivatives, polyurethane, acrylic polymers, and
pigments. We offer surfactants & auxiliaries for agriculture, oilfield, personal care and other
strategic chemical sectors, such as detergents & polymerization. The range of products
includes wetting agents, emulsifiers, dispersants, rheological modifiers, crystal growth
inhibitors, binders and other chemical specialties.
2. WORKING CONDITIONS: This position is field-based and work is supervised in a remote
manner. The Technical Sales Representative works out of their respective home office and
must be located near a major airport. Customers are primarily industrial manufacturing
companies in the Pesticide and/or Adjuvant Formulation and/or Distribution business. Most
of the actual customer interaction will be performed in person, via phone or e-mail. The
travel schedule is typically ~ 50% of total work time.
3. QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:
o Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or equivalent. Might
consider Biology, Agronomy or other Ag-related degrees.
o Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
B. EXPERIENCE:
o Must have a proven record of successful sales and customer support experience.
o Prefer 5+ years Chemical Industry Sales or Technical Support and experience
selling or supporting sales of surfactants, oleochemicals or other specialty
chemicals into the U.S Agrochemical market.
o The ideal candidate for this position will have a sound working knowledge and
understanding of pesticide formulation processes, products, raw materials and
ag-related markets (e.g. Crop, T&O, PCO, IVM and Home & Garden).
o Must have experience providing customers with formulation and application
technical support. Industry knowledge and existing contacts will also be of
interest.
C. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
o Must possess the necessary technical expertise to introduce, sell, service and
assist our customers in the use of Lamberti surfactants and oleochemicals.
o Must be well-organized and detail oriented; have good problem identification
and problem solving skills; be a good negotiator; and have a strong, assertive
work ethic. Must be able to work independently and effectively with minimal
supervision.
o Must have strong verbal and written communications skills and be adept at
building relationships with multiple internal functions and with all levels at
customers.
o Computer literate with high skill level in Microsoft software products
(PowerPoint, Excel, Word etc.) and SAP or equivalent ERP systems

4. RESPONSIBILITIES:
B. SALES & CUSTOMER SUPPORT:
o Responsible for U.S. Ag-related specialty chemical field sales, implementing
marketing programs, and providing customer service for product inquiries.
o Build sales through consultative selling into one or more end-use markets, e.g.,
crop- and non-crop pesticide formulators, as well as adjuvant suppliers.
o Contact new and existing customers to discuss their needs, and to explain how
these needs could be met by specific products and services. Establish personal
relationships through sales calls and responding to customer inquiries.
o Act as steward of product portfolio by making product use recommendations
and by securing samples/literature to assist customers in the selection of those
products best suited to their needs.
o Provide market intelligence on products, suppliers and markets in the
agrochemical industry.
o Negotiate contracts to secure long term supply commitments.
C. PLANNING:
o Develop business plans to segment and target customers, distributors, and key
influencers.
o Develop sales objectives, attain sales and marketing goals, and provide periodic
sales forecast updates.
o Anticipate changes in market dynamics and respond by developing appropriate
short- and long-term action plans.
D. TRAINING:
o Prepare product updates and conduct technical training for customers and
potential customers to increase product awareness and sales.
o Demonstrate and explain the application and use of products. Emphasize
product features based on analyses of customers' needs, and on technical
knowledge of product capabilities and limitations.
o Participate in local/national industry association programs related to pesticide
and adjuvant formulation and use.
o Attend training to develop/maintain relevant knowledge, techniques and skills.

E. COMMUNICATIONS & REPORTING:


o Prepare weekly reports to identify opportunities, emerging threats, and
competitive activity.
o Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant
reports and information.
o Communicate, liaise, and negotiate internally and externally using appropriate
methods to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable
relationships.
o Inform customers of estimated delivery schedules and other information
pertaining to purchased products.
o Prepare customer reports that show what competitive products are being used
and other strategic information such as volumes, pricing, sales terms, etc.
o Quote prices, terms of sale, delivery dates or similar information.
o Access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and ERP system.
