Applications
Transients induced on telecommunications signal lines can damage and destroy sensitive telecommunications equipment, which in turn can lead to considerable business downtime, loss revenue and loss of profits. With the increase in use of digital telecommunications transmissions, the Global High Speed Protector series has been developed to protect line terminal equipment operating at up to 8Mbits/s (12MHz) from damage caused by surges and transients. Global HSP provide generous transient protection performance with negligable impact on the communications signals being transmitted. In addition, Global HSP features two stage protection where a high energy gas arrester works in conjunction with a faster acting semiconductor clamping device, which provides faster operation and lower let-through voltages than the traditional gas arrester.
