primary identity

In an attempt to unify the logos of all SCRRF

programs, a logo family was created using the
common motif of a gear. This gear represents
the mechanical aspect of the FIRST Competi-
tion. An additional icon is added to the off-cen-
tered gear for each SCRRF program: FLL, FIRST
Links, Vex Robotics. The gear motif is easily
recognized in all applications.

For the primary logo, the wrench from the

previous SCRRF logo is retained, allowing some
continuity from past logos.

The colors used in the SCRRF identity are consider-

ably lighter or calmer than a team’s logos would be.
Since SCRRF is a supporting organization, its colors
“support” other groups. Though black is a provided
color, it should only be used in instances in which
other colors cannot be substituted.

logo placement

lockup The SCRRF logo and related subprograms

can stand on its own as a combination of
both type and mark. However, occasions
may arise when the logo should be used
slightly differently.

Please use the lockup as the primary

means of identifying the organization to an
audience unfamiliar with it. This way, they’ll

see the mark and also read the typography,
immediately associating the logo with the
organization.
mark

The mark may be used alone when

necessary. Great places to use the mark
alone are on objects where it is enough for
identification. Please be
sure only to use the solitary mark when
the audience you’re showing it to is already
familiar with the organization in some
respect.

Verdana Bold is used in all titles and subtitles.

In addition it may be used for heading subsec-
tions of a document. Verdana Roman is used for
all general documents. Documents in need of a
more classic, serif font may use Georgia Italic
in their titles, as seen on the SCRRF website.
