LIFE CYCLE OF THE MOON

The moon is the symbol of biological rhythms: "Astro that waxes and wanes and disappears, whose life is subject to the universal law of becoming, of birth and death ... is a pathetic story like that of man, but death is never final. this perpetual return to their initial forms, this periodicity without end, makes the moon is the quintessential star of the rhythms of life. it controls all the cosmic planes governed by the law of cyclic evolution: rainwater vegetation and fertility "... (Elit.139). The Moon in its rotation around the Earth has different visual aspects as its position with respect to the Sun when the Moon is between Earth and the Sun, the Earth is facing its unlit side (new moon or new moon). A week later the Moon has 1 / 4 turn and has half a face illuminated (crescent). Another week and the Moon occupies a position aligned with the Sun and the Earth, which can be seen from Earth all the illuminated face (Full Moon or Full Moon). A week later comes the last quarter. After about four weeks we are again in new moon. The area bordering the light and shadow is called the terminator. (See luminosity lunar). Note: The images we see to the right of this page correspond to the first phases of the moon seen by an observer located on Earth, when he was in the northern hemisphere and with the cardinal point "North" just in their back (south to the front).

Orbit and Phases of the Moon seen from Earth. The image beneath the lunar phases, corresponding to each of the respective astronomical positions of the Moon and Earth with respect to the sun as seen from outer space, just above the Earth's North Pole. Pictured in the eight basic lunar phases are recognizable from the ground:

Moon # 1: New Moon or moons, also called "Astronomical New Moon" or "Black Moon", corresponds to the true New Moon, the moon phase is usually impossible to see with the naked eye as it is hidden behind the glare, you can only watch when there is a total solar eclipse, which happened during this lunar phase given only when conditions are appropriate. Moon # 2: Visible New Moon, also known in popular parlance "Crescent Moon" is for Traditional and New Moon is the first appearance of the moon in the sky, 18 or 30 hours after sustaining the position of "Astronomical New Moon." This phase of the moon can be seen in the sky to the west, and once hidden the sun, just above the twilight still remaining. Is shaped like a small scythe or horn. This phase of the Moon is used to start the first day of each meslunar. Moon # 3: Quarter Moon. Does your ortho (output of the sun on the horizon) to the east at 12 noon, the peak occurs at 6 pm and sunset at 12 lamedianoche. The luminous part of the moon during this phase has the shape of a circle right in the middle game (semi-circle). Moon # 4: Waning Crescent Moon, a time long past First Quarter phase, the Moon is gradually taking day after day, a convex shape on both sides in the luminous part, losing the right side that he had during the previous phase (Luna 3). Moon # 5: Full Moon or Full Moon is when the concavity of the luminous part of the Moon in its entirety to successfully complete to form a circle. His sunrise is approximately 6:00 pm, it reached the zenith for about midnight and sets around 6:00 am. The Full Moon comes to check exactly what is half of the lunar month (14 days, 18 hours, 21 minutes 36 seconds). Moon No. 6: Waning Gibbous Moon, and the last phase corresponding to the full moon, the light of the moon began to wane with the passing of days, thus taking back-just like on the Moon No. 4 - appearance of a Moon-Concave (gibbous) this time in its declining phase. Moon # 7: Last Quarter, just like the first quarter, but in reverse. It also has its ortho at 12 midnight, reached its zenith in the sky at 6 am and sunset occur at 12 noon, ie, this lunar phase is the period of days during which it is possible to observe the moon in the sky during the morning. Moon # 8: Waning Moon, also known as "Waning Crescent" or "Old Moon" (the latter term little known) since it is identical to the new moon, but in the opposite direction. The waning Moon is only possible to see it at dawn, to the east, just above the Aurora or Dawn and before leaving the Sun has the appearance of small scythe. Moon # 9: Luna Negra, is the last phase of the Moon seen from Earth, thus beginning again, another cycle of lunar phases.
