WARNING Unless otherwise designated, and prior to beginning the Calibration Process, ensure that all test equipment voltage and/or current outputs are set to zero (0) or turned off, where applicable. Ensure that all equipment switches are set to the proper position before making connections or applying power. WARNING Each technician assembling high or low pressure lines for test purposes must be familiar with all applicable directives and safety precautions contained in applicable OSHA STD 127-66 and T.O. 00-25-223. It is recommended that a protective shield be used during the pressurization of all Test Instruments (TI) up to and including 500 psi and mandatory over 500 psi. 3.2 Place the TI in the Laboratory environment for at least 2 hours prior to start of calibration. 3.3 Connect a D-Subminature 9 pin male connector cable from the TI to the 5 VDC Power Supply with Pin 3 being negative (-) and Pin 9 positive (+). 3.4 With TI and test equipment connected to an appropriate power source, set POWER switches to ON and allow warm-up as required by manufacturer. 3.5 Connect a D-Subminature 9 pin female connector cable from the host computer to the TI. NOTE A null modem cable may be required, depending on the computer. Local Manufacturer Windows 95/98 or equivalent Calibration Equipment Hewlett-Packard 6214C SubItem

T.O. 33K6-4-3202-1 3.6 Set up Windows HyperTerminal session configuration as follows: Bit per second: Data bits: Parity: Stop bits: Flow control: Start bit NOTE The Default path for HyperTerminal is: C:/Program Files/Accessories/ HyperTerminal. 3.7 All commands are in capital letters. All commands to be transmitted to the TI will be bolded. 3.8 Start HyperTerminal session, transmit V to verify communications connection. 3.9 Transmit -8888S to perform Internal Diagnostics Test. 3.10 TI will respond D-NOS. 3.11 Transmit S. 3.12 TI will respond BUSY and will reply within 30 seconds PASS or ERR. TI must display PASS to proceed with calibration. If ERR is displayed, contact manufacturer for further instruction. 3.13 Transmit C, TI responds: SETRA DIGITAL PRESSURE TRANSDUCER MODEL 470 BUSY (TI will pause for 30 seconds, then display Verify Message) SETRA DIGITAL PRESSURE TRANSDUCER MODEL 470 17.7180 TO 32.4830 in Hg A 3.14 Make copies of Appendix B Worksheet as necessary. 3.15 Transmit P and record As Found Units in the Pressure Units As Found block on the Worksheet. 3.16 Throughout the calibration, it may be necessary to change pressure units. To change pressure units, transmit UP. Each time UP is transmitted, the TI will scroll to the next available pressure unit. Continue to transmit UP until the desired pressure unit is displayed. 2400 8 None 1 None 1

T.O. 33K6-4-3202-1 NOTE Ensure to return the TI to the As Found Units when calibration is complete. 4 CALIBRATION PROCESS: NOTE Unless otherwise specified, verify the results of each test and take corrective action whenever the test requirement is not met, before proceeding. 4.1 ABSOLUTE PRESSURE CALIBRATION: 4.1.1 Connect equipment as shown in Figure 1. 4.1.2 Transmit 5P. 4.1.3 Exercise TI throughout entire range 3 times, ensure that full scale and zero indications are held for a minimum period of 20 seconds each time they are attained, then set system to atmospheric pressure. 4.1.4 Transmit -P. 4.1.5 Close Pressure Regulator Increase and Decrease valves.

T.O. 33K6-4-3202-1 APPENDIX A A-1 ADJUSTMENT PROCESS: A-1.1 Connect equipment as in Figure 1. A-1.2 The calibration coefficients for the TI are stored internally. New coefficients can only be written when the Enable Switch on the digital electronics board is set to ON. The Enable Switch is located inside the round access hole in the TI case directly to the right of the communications port. To set the Enable Switch on, attach a dip switch or equivalent across the pins. NOTE This procedure can be aborted at any point by setting the Enable Switch to OFF and transmitting C, to execute the clear function. A-1.3 With power applied to TI, set the Enable Switch to ON. A-1.4 Transmit SZ, for Setup Zero. A-1.5 Apply the indicated pressure from the Primary Pressure Standard. A-1.6 When the pressure is stable, Transmit S. TI will respond BUSY and will respond within 30 seconds PROTEC. A-1.7 Set enable switch to OFF. Transmit C. A-1.8 Set Enable Switch to ON. Transmit SF. A-1.9 The TI Responds with APPLY and a value. Apply the indicated value. A-1.10 When the pressure is stable, Transmit S. A-1.11 The TI will respond with APPLY and a Full Scale value. Apply the indicated value. A-1.12 When the pressure is stable, Transmit S. TI will respond BUSY and will respond within 30 seconds PROTEC. A-1.13 Set Enable Switch to OFF. Transmit C. A-1.14 Repeat steps 4.1.7 through 4.1.18 to verify calibration.

T.O. 33K6-4-3202-1 APPENDIX B B-1 WORKSHEET: B-1.1 The Applied Values in the Worksheet are nominal values. The technician may substitute other values if they are within 0.25 in Hg of the Applied Value listed in the Worksheet. If a substituted value is applied, then the technician must compute the appropriate Tolerance Value for the Worksheet. B-1.2 The Worksheet is provided as a guide for recording TI indication. The technician may alter the format of the Worksheet for local use. The technician may construct a spreadsheet to perform the Worksheet calculations.
