Demonstrate the ability to perform a health assessment on an individual client. Select goals and develop plans of care for individuals based on analysis of available data using theoretical knowledge. Provide nursing care within legal and ethical parameters to the individual client. Identify learning needs for individuals with common health problems. Assist in evaluating and modifying the plan of care for individual client responses to nursing interventions. Provide direct nursing care to culturally diverse client(s) in a structured care setting. Use nursing process to guide delivery of nursing care to individual clients

Identify resources needed for the delivery of care to individual clients in in-patient (acute care and residential) settings. Participate in the planning and delivery of nursing care to individual clients as a supervised member of the interdisciplinary health care team. Identify need for individual client referrals. Identify roles and functions of members of the interdisciplinary health care team.

1. Apply knowledge based on theoretical and conceptual principles and research methodology to assess persons and families with identified physical and or psychiatric problems. 2. Formulate goals and develop plans of care for individuals and families based on analysis of available data using theoretical knowledge in collaboration with the interdisciplinary health care team. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Provide legal, ethical, and collaborative care to individuals and family members in the acute care, residential and community settings. Develop and implement teaching plans for individual clients with health care needs. Evaluate and modify the plan of care for individual clients in collaboration with the interdisciplinary health care team. Provide for care of culturally diverse individual client(s) in collaboration with the interdisciplinary health care team. Use critical thinking along with evidence-based practice to guide delivery of nursing care to individual clients.

Member of Profession

1. Assume responsibility and accountability for providing safe, effective nursing to individuals and families.

2. Act as an advocate for individuals and families in the various care settings. Critique research studies for application/use to guide nursing practice. 3. Identify avenues for promoting the profession and improving quality of health care.

1. Identify appropriate resources available to clients and their families in community and acute care settings
