The Effectiveness of Pre-Questioning On Students Reading Comprehension As an international language, English is very important and has many interrelationships with various aspects of life. In Indonesia, English considered as the first foreign language and taught formally from elementary school up to the university level. In English, there are four skills that should be mastered, they are: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The reading skill became very important in the education field, students need to be exercised and trained in order to have a good reading skill. Clarke and Silberstain (1977:136-137) capture essence of schema theory: Research has shown that reading is only incidentally visual. More information is contributed by the reader than by the print on the page. That is reader understand what they read because they are able to take the stimulus beyond its graphic representation and assign it membership to an appropriate group of concepts already stored in their memories. Skill in reading depends on the efficient interaction between linguistic knowledge and knowledge of the world. In reading, to comprehend the text the readers should be able to manage every part of the text, because it is easy to gain the comprehension in reading when the readers are able to organize the text. Sometimes, they may find form of pre-questioning and it is important for them to comprehend a reading text with having knowledge in general view of the text. Theoretically, pre-questioning itself can build the students interest and motivation before students read the whole text. Moreover, the students can predict what will be discussed on the text. In general with this study, students may improve their reading comprehension if they know about pre-questioning and it is very important to understand about pre-questioning in order to get good comprehension in reading.

3. The influence of intrinsic and extrinsic Motivation towards Listening Skill According to Hutchinson and Waters (1987:39) as in Ayi Siti Komariah (2011:10) the key to successful language learning and teaching lies not in the analysis of the nature of language but in understanding the structure and process of the mind. It means to get a successful language learning and teaching depend on the structure and process of the mind. If our mind structure is set to the paradigm that learning language is interesting it will make learning and teaching program fun and nor boring. Teaching English in schools is usually done by the teacher. Many students feel stressful when they study English especially listening. The students sometimes dont understand what they hear exactly, because the foreign language is different from their native language. They cant catch every word well because it sounds strange in their ears. It can be the problem of low motivation in studying English. It continues during the lesson or even before it. It is a serious problem. To solve this problem, the teacher should provide interesting teaching and learning strategies. The strategy must be able to motivate and encourage the students who start to learn a foreign language and help students to overcome their stress. According to H. Douglas (1994:34) motivation is the extent to which you make choices about (a) goals to pursue and (b) the effort you will devote to that pursuit. These two traditions in motivation primary driving force among the members of the Dead Poets Society was an intrinsic set of motivates within them and not the disdained extrinsic punishments that lay outside of them. It means that motivation is very important to can make the student interest in studying English. Based on the explanation above, the writer is interested to find out: 1. The students get difficulty in listening comprehension. 2. Motivation have impact towards listening skill.
