INTRODUCTION
International Human Rights Observer (IHRO) working together with Governments, United Nations and other International institutions to promote and protect the basic human rights of the masses declared in the universal charter of human rights of United Nations to build a global village of lasting peace, social and economic justice and development for the 21st century. IHRO is an independent, non-political, non-profitable and non-governmental organization registered under social welfare act 1961 in Pakistan and incorporated in USA and UK. It has more than 53000 volunteers members network in the country and playing a vital role against human rights violations on grass root level since its creation Human Rights Monitoring, Human Rights Education, Sustainable Development, Research and Human Rights awareness through national, International Conferences and Workshops and seminars is the major agenda of IHRO.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES


To work for the rectification and implementation of universal declaration of Human Rights and other related charter covenants and protocols. To take necessary action in preventing human rights violations and provide aid and assistance, including legal aid to victims to group striving to protect human rights. To receive and investigate reported and unreported cases allegation of human rights violations and recommending appropriate action to the concerned authorities. To provide basic necessities of life such as drinking water, medical relief, pure water and other rural developments schemes like model villages particularly to remote area living in small villages. To promote the youth rights through different project with other national and international partner organizations. To educate and create consciousness among youth and women drugs narcotics, HIV Aids and on others issues. To co-operate with other national and international organizations groups and individuals engaged in promoting human rights education, sustainable development and information technology and to participates in meeting and conference on human rights at national and international level.

FOCUS MANIFESTO
In the first meeting, General Executive Council of IHRO decided that organization would focus on the Universal Declarations of Human rights and other charters of United Nations along with other regional standard and chatterers of human rights. Therefore the focus of agenda of IHRO will be provisions of: Human Rights Education Human Rights Monitoring Millennium Development Goals of United Nations Sustainable Development

IHRO PROJECTS
Human Rights Monitoring
International Human Rights Observer (IHRO) is working as an observer group in Pakistan with its 53000 volunteer members network at grass root level. The basic aim of these members to act as an observer of IHRO to report the human rights abuses from their native area. Later, head office release research report on these reported complaints and forward these reports to national and international institutions.

National Human Rights Developments Programme Human Rights Education


Education has been selected as a key area to explore the great idea of Human Rights on gross root level. Human Rights Education, human rights awareness/ advocacy is the priority agenda to highlight the great mission of Human Rights in Pakistan. IHRO has announced a national Human Rights Education Program on 10th December 2002. This program consist of following activities: Human Rights Education to Teachers Human Rights Education to School Children Human Rights Education to Facilitators / NGOs heads Human Rights Educations to Law Enforcement Officials

IHRO is also doing its best efforts to collaborate with the Government of Pakistan and other organizations and funding agencies for the implementation of Human Rights Education in Pakistan.

International Human Rights University


International Human Rights Observers (IHRO) has also credibility to establish the proposal of International Human Rights University first time in the history of the South Asia and in the world. This University will be a great initiative to promote human rights, peace, tolerance, democracy, and sustainable development in the developing countries especially in the Islamic world. IHRO propose that this university would boost up a new dynamism in the Pakistani populace. This University is under development at Islamabad Pakistan.

Pakistan Institute of Human Rights Teaching and Research (PIHRT)


International Human Rights Observer (IHRO) has established the first ever Pakistan Institute of Human Rights Teaching and Research (PIHRT) in 2001. In which IHRO is providing the basic human Rights education to the Teacher, Student and Community through short courses and diploma.

HRE Schooling System


IHRO launched Human Rights Education Program in collaboration with other partner NGOs in rural areas of Pakistan under Pakistan Institute for Human Rights Teaching and Research (PIHRT) in 2003. IHRO started the first phase of this project in the rural area of District Rawalpindi Taxila and signed agreement Ideal Educational Social Welfare Society Organization Taxila to facilitate human rights education to the 300 teachers in 20 schools. This project had been completed from 2002-2004. IHRO has planned now second phase of this project to train 5000 teachers in years 20052007 in 100 schools in NWFP, AJK and Punjab.

Islamic Research Institute for Human Rights (IRIHR)


IHRO also established Islamic Research Institute for Human Rights in 2001. This institute is offering the debates and research on Islam and Human Rights. This institute has published two books on Human Rights and Islam along the multiple research reports.

Sustainable Development and Human Rights


Sustainable Development is one of the key factors of IHROs agenda. Sustainable development is important for the culture of human rights. IHRO is striving to promote the link between Human Rights and Sustainable Development at every national and international forum. We feel that majority of human rights abuses occurs with poverty, ignorance, lack of provision of quality standards of life. IHRO has participated in the UN World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) in 2002 in South Africa and till now working on this particular project of Sustainable Development in Pakistan and others parts of the world to promote the great agenda of United Nations.

Water & Human Rights


IHRO believes that provision of clean water is one of the fundamental rights of human being. IHRO is the member of Pakistan water partnership, and linked Organization of global water partnership, International council of water and International Secretariat of water Canada since year 2000. Our Organization participated in the United Nations 3rd World water Forum 2003 in Kyoto- Japan and proposed Water as Fundamental human right to the Ministerial Declaration of the forum. IHRO is working along civil society organizations and network to aware the general masses about the scarcity of water resources in Pakistan and its impacts on future generations.

Women and Minority Rights Project


Our Organization has launched its National Minority project in the light of UN declaration on the right of persons belonging to national or ethnic, religious and linguistic minority. IHRO has reported many minority rights causes in the country since 1999. Besides, organization has always raised the voice for the protection of minorities and women. The project on Eradication of Women Violence in Pakistan is operational in remote areas of Pakistan. Many conferences, seminars, community dialogues have been organized for awareness purpose. IHRO is also providing legal aid to deserving clients and publish the quarterly report on women rights issues.

Awards & Achievements:


IHRO awarded by the government of Azad Jammu & Kashmir in April 2007 for the rehabilitation work for the victims of earthquake 2005. IHRO has credit of possessing the largest network of fifty-three thousands volunteers through out the Pakistan. IHRO got the membership of National Council of Electoral participation (NEP) in 2006. This national council is a project of Election Commission of Pakistan working for the election and democracy.

IHRO is the only organization that got the mandate of monitoring of local bodies election 2005 with the 1500 observers in history of election commission of Pakistan. South Asia Peace Initiative Award 2004 by South Asian Center has been awarded to IHRO. UNESCO in Paris named IHRO Messenger of Manifesto 2000 for its contribution to the Global Movement for a Culture of Peace and Non-violence. IHRO has the initiative of establishing Parliamentarians Assembly for the Human rights in 2004. The main purpose of this forum is to raise the voice against human rights abuses in parliament through elected parliamentarians and recommending the changes in laws of Pakistan to protect the human rights IHRO held one all Parties national conference on good governance and human rights on November 1st, 2002 before general election in Pakistan, in which all political parties including ARD, PML (N), PPP and others signed National Consensus and Covenant on good governance and human rights. IHRO is linked with more than 100 different international organizations on different social issues.

IHRO AND UNITED NATIONS


International Human Rights observer (IHRO) is working for the promotion of agenda of United Nations on grass root level. IHRO has attended and arranged many International events of United Nations in Different Parts of world. IHRO participated in the 39th session of Commission for social Development from 13th to 23rd February 2000 at United Nations Head Quarters as a south Asian Partner of International Foundation for Rural Development. IHRO accredited by United Nations Conference on Facilitation the entry into Force of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test- Bin Treaty (CTBT) in UN New York from 10th -13th November 2001. The Global Forum financing the rights to Sustainable and Equitable Development Form 14th -16th March 2002 in Monterrey- Mexico. IHRO to attend the World Summit for sustainable Development as a major group in Jonesburg South Africa in August 2002. Participated in 3rd World Water Forum in Kyoto in Japan in March 2003 Participated in 11th session of the Commission for sustainable development of United Nation from 28th April to 9th May 2003 at New York Attend the 29th Session of CEDAW from 9th-18th July 2003 at UN New York Participated in the United Nation s CTBT conference in Austria Vienna in September 2003 IHRO attend the World Summit for Information Society from 10th-12th December 2003 in Geneva Switzerland.

INTERNATIONAL MOVEMENT FOR PEACE


VOICES FOR PEACE, FREEDOM AND DEMOCRACY
IHRO launched its International Movements for peace at New York in 2002 after 9/11 terrorism incident in USA and condemned all forms of terrorism in the world. Our organization raised the voice for different international issues of human rights for Kashmir, Afghanistan, Palestine, Bosnia and Iraq etc by conducting dialogues, Seminars and peaceful protests not only in Pakistan But also in other parts of the world. Many reports on Afghanistan, Kashmir, Iraq and other have been released.

INTERNATIONAL CONNECTIONS
International Human Rights Observer (IHRO) is linked with more than 100 different International Organization on different issue at globally.

TYPES OF MEMERSHIP Voluntary Membership Volunteers will be encouraged on behalf of IHRO to work for human rights in the community, according to the disciplines and rules of the organization. Furthermore, member will be given the opportunity to arrange and attend events organized by IHRO. General Membership General Membership holders are authorized to vote in the general elections of IHRO. They will be given different community responsibilities from time to time, which need to be conducted according to the rules and regulations of IHRO. Executive Membership Any general member of IHRO can become an executive membership with the approval of the executive committee and the president of the organization. The applicants will be required to given an interview regarding human rights issues and other activities for this membership. Union Membership IHRO has taken the decision to welcomed other Human Welfare Organizations and community Based organization (CBOs) to come together in partnership to protect the rights of our society for further enhancement and collaboration in the filed of education, health, justice, poverty, women and child rights etc. the organizations will be required to provide the copy of registration of the organizations issues by the Government of Pakistan.
