The revolutionary ERSASCOPE2 has been over three years in development and has taken into account the valuable input from nearly 2000 ERSASCOPE users worldwide. With the second generation of ERSASCOPE inspection systems, ERSA once again is setting the innovation standard for BGA optical inspection - a technology that it invented! The ERSASCOPE 2, with its innovative optical heads and intelligent light management system, is opening doors to as yet undiscovered spaces! The new ERSASCOPE 2 Inspection system comes standard with three specially designed & robust optical heads to meet the specific inspection needs in a production environment. The improved 90 optical head provides superior ERSASCOPE quality images under BGA components and their subtypes. The advanced 0 Microscope head perfectly illuminates and magnifies up to 350x for high-contrast surface and via hole inspection. Setting itself apart from all other BGA optical systems, the ERSASCOPE2 Flip Chip head is the only optical system in the world with an aperture height below 12 microns (0.012mm)! This means that it is now possible to look up at even the top side of the Flip Chip joint or look into the interior of a CSP! The new optical carrier system includes 2 mechanical irises, allowing the operator for the first time to independently control the MiniXenon light source separately both in the optical path as well as in the path of the back light. These new features are complemented by the additional illumination provided by interchangeable light brushes. The MACROZOOM optics (7-70x optical zoom), and the new FLEXSCOPE-flexible mini endoscope ( 0.4 mm) are options to the extended product portfolio. All ERSASCOPE systems can be upgraded with the Upgrade kit XL for inspection of large PCBs (600 x 700 mm ). ERSA provides three software packages to complement the ERSASCOPE inspection hardware. IDView Image Explorer, ImageDoc Basic 1.3 and ImageDoc EXP 2.0 can be selected for visualization, analysis and documentation of the inspection results. ImageDoc EXP offers the worldwide largest soldering process data bank with more than 450MB text, reference images, videos and problem solution proposals.

Monitor Recommendation:
The ERSASCOPE 2 system is equipped with a high quality CCD- Camera. The unit can be connected directly to any colour video monitor or the signal can be displayed on a PC monitor by use of a frame grabber card. Best image quality will be achieved with high resolution colour tube monitors (CRT) (horizontal resolution 460 TV lines). PC systems with DVI (Digital Visual Interface) will depict brilliant images, too. A black/ white monitor is not suited for this application.
