Incorporated as a cooperative, non-profit society since 1971, Dundarave Print Workshop, (DPW), is an artists' studio and gallery dedicated

to contemporary fine art printmaking. Located in the Net Loft building, amidst Vancouver's vibrant Granville Island community of artists' studios, galleries and cafs, DPW offers professional facilities for intaglio, relief-based printmaking and related processes. Our Members include professional and emerging Artists, all of whom share a common love of printmaking. As a cooperative, the responsibilities for studio maintenance are shared by all of the Workshop members. Revenue is generated through membership fees, studio courses and gallery sales. DUNDARAVE PRINT WORKSHOP HISTORY | a celebration of 40 years | 1971 - 2011 1971 At the initiation of B.C. Binning, Marte Binning Reed-MacDougall and Dan MacDougall, a Charter is put into place and a Canada Council grant provides $4000 for equipment. The studio is born and set up in the MacDougall's guest house on their property on Mathers Avenue in Dundarave, West Vancouver. With the aid of that successful Canada Council grant, the Charles Brand Press is purchased and Dundarave Print Workshop is established and ready for printing. After 6 months, DPW nearly collapses and a quest for new members is made. Dan MacDougall is offered a teaching position at the University of Saskatchewan, Regina. B.C. Binning's health declines and the operation of the print studio is left with Wayne Eastcott. 1972-76 DPW is still trying to find its legs when the property that houses the studio is sold. The new owner agrees to let the shop stay. Everything is up in the air once again when the new owner dies. After failing to get assistance from the City of West Vancouver to move into the Klee Wyck Art Centre and unable to move into other locations, the shop is set up in a familiar setting-another member's garage.

1977 DPW moves to the Victory Block Building on Pender Street, a small two-room studio on the second floor. The BC Binning Scholarship is established. 1979 An invitation to relocate to Granville Island is received and the shop is relocated.

Letters were written to the Canada Council and various organizations...they all turned a deaf ear! Past and honorary members are invited to the AGM. Many ideas are discussed and discarded. Members finally decide to raise the annual fees.
