    OralPresentationandPresentationPaper: Atthebeginningofthesemesterstudentswillformfivegroupstopresentanoral presentationand3pagepaperattheconclusionofeachunit.Forexample,group1will presentonthecontentgiveninunit1,group2willpresentonthecontentgiveninunit 2,etcEachgroupmaychoosewhichunittopresenton,however,oncethegroups havemadetheirdecisiontheymustabidebyit.Presentationswillbescheduledinsuch amannerastogivestudentsareasonableamountoftimetoreflectonthecontentand preparetheirresponseaftertheunitscontenthasbeendelivered.Studentswillbe informedofthepresentationdatenolessthanoneweekinadvance.Presentations shouldbearesponsetoissuesarisingfromthereadingsandbasedonthetopicofthe unit.Morespecificpromptsmaybeprovidedbytheprofessororguestlecturer presentingtheunitinquestion.Thepresentationshouldfocusonstimulatingfurther discussionoftheissueandshouldincorporateatimeofdiscussionwiththeclassasa whole.Theclassdiscussionthatfollowsthepresentationshouldprovideopportunityto supplementandraisesalientissuesotherwisenotbroughtoutbythepresenters.     FieldObservationPaper: StudentsparticipatingintheSocialWorkclasswillbeexpectedtoengageinobservation attheirregularinternship/serviceplacementsite.Onthebasisoftheseobservations studentswillwritea56pagepaperexplainingthemission,history,andactivitiesofthe organizationwithwhichtheyhavebeenplacedaswellascriticallyanalyzingthe organizationseffectivenessinmeetingitssocialgoalsandproposingpossible alternativemethodsthroughwhichtheorganizationmightbettermeetthosegoals. Thisassignmentwillbeinadditiontoallotheracademicassignmentsrequiredforthe internshipandwillbedueattheendofthesemester. FinalPaper: Studentswillwritea10pagepaperexaminingoneofthemajorsocialissuesinIndia broughtupinUnitsIIIIandproposingwhatsocialworkmethodologymightbemost effectivelyusedtoaddressthissocialproblemintheIndiancontext.Studentsshould supporttheirthesiswithrelevantexamplesandoutsideresearch.Further,students shouldcompareandcontrasttheirchosensocialissuewithsimilarsocialissuesinthe UnitedStatesandreflectontheapplicabilityofWesternsocialworkmodelsandsocial understandingstotheIndiancontext.Thepapershouldintegrateissuesofculture, religionandprofessionalpractice.ThispaperwillbedueonMarch27th.
