Case study:- inquiring mind want to know now Submitted to:- Mr.

Navpreet singh submitted by:- sagar guglani

Que:- Describe the research design and analyze its strengths and weaknesses? Ans:- in this case of inquiring mind want to know now researcher used stratified disproportionate simple random samling of probability techniques. Researcher divide the population from the two strata. Strartification variables are taken from two year (1992 &1997). The sample size is not only proportionate to the size if stratum in the population but also to the standard deviation in that stratum. Strengths: It guarantee a balanced sample. in this study it consider 42 cells(seven industry groups by six job titles). it provides greater precision, a stratified sample often requires a smaller sample, which saves money.

Weaknesses: it is hard job to do. it may require more administrative effort than a simple random sample. The variance vary too much amoung the subgroups.

Que:- Critique the survey used for this study? Ans:- Objective of the survey: the survey was conducted for experiencing the decline in use of publication reader services card.it is used for comparing the inquiry responses. Summary of survey:Ads were drawn from two years(1992&1997).average number of responses for ads were3.3 in the year of 1992 and growing 4.1 in the year 1997. In the year 1992 69.1 ads responses were sended through postal mailing addresss and in 1997 these were 55.5%. In year 1997 more thn half responses were send by e-mail (17.7%) and website(60.9 %).then researcher send questionnaire to the target populatin by phone, by mail and final study was send to the 4000 subscribers. After that 710 questionnaires were received from which676 respondents said that they take purchase decision for their organization then only their data was analysed by weighting responses in each divided by percentage in overall population. At the 95 level of significance the margin of error was 4. It shows the impact of information technology because

half of the user gave responses by using new mathods of inquiry. The expectation for using the internet are increasing because it provide fast and cheap delivery of the information. Que:-Assume you are compiling the research report.how would you present statiscal informationso desion maker must decide wheter or not to continue to publish reader card services?

Ans:Basis Total responses Through postal adresses Through email and website Year 1992 responses 3.3% 69.1% Non existence Year 1997 responses 4.1% 55.5% 17.7(e mail), 60.9%(website)

basis By mail By website By fax on demand Expected services through internet

%age in next five years 73.7% 72.2% 60% 74.3%

Que:- Assume you are compiling your research report .what are the limitation to your study? Ans:- Limitation of study: It is time consuming process. The more information is given in the statiscal form which may leads to create confusion. Lack of new method of inquiry in the year of 1992. Tradition method is compared wiyh the innovative methods which varies the result difference more. More time is required for the choosed samling design. Cost of thestratification may increase.

Que:- Describe the sampling plan? Analyze its strength and weakness? Ans:- Sampling plan of this study:- in this study the sampling plan takes two parameter to be measured for the year 1992 and 1997.sample size is based on the homogenous responses of the respondent. From the sample size of 710 respondents only 676 are selected for the data analysed who are having responses for the homogenus fact.then 40 respondent are seleted for

taking the in depth interview from which half responded through using the mew mwthods of inquiry. Strengths: it assumes only homogenous responses. it provides the elaborated activities and responsibilities of researcher.

Weaknesses: sample size is difficult to select for the study. Large number of subscribers are used for this study.
