MOBILITY ECOLOGY ECONOMY

These three words seem to contradict each other because does not exist today a true solution for the mobility which is also ecological and economic. Someone is trying to solve the problem using motor bikes but becoming immediately a new victim of the taxes and insurance companies. Moreover the use of motorbikes requires to wear an helmet and this a further limitation especially in the hot summers of the southern countries Pleasant and unlimited bike-tourism The pleasure of a long and ecologic bike ride with friends and girls always arises the come back problem. When you go back home, in fact, the way back has the same length of the way in but the energy still stored in your legs could be drastically decreased and the last two three miles are a true hell, especially if your friends are more effective than you are. Today one could solve the problem using a pedal assisted bike but this solution is no to be considered as the best because of the following two reasons: The external design of the actual electro bikes show immediately that your bike is not a real bike but a pedal assisted machine and this not acceptable to a wide range of users, especially middle aged men The riding performance are limited because generally the electric motor is directly installed on the wheel hub and, as a consequence, it can not transmit its own power to the wheel through the rear gear box; this is a problem not only for climbing hard slopes but for the best management too of the on board electric energy. Infinity electrobyke The new bike herein presented is the real solution for all the problems said before because of following absolutely innovative characteristics : From an aesthetical point of view our bike is a completely normal bike differing from the others in a very few items From the point of view of its performances the bike has the big advantage of having the electric motor upstream the rear gear box; that means you can choose the best gear ratio without overcharging the motor and, moreover, the batteries From the point of view of the running distance the autonomy is practically infinite (on flat roads) because a proper photovoltaic jacket and some additional solar panels on the shopping basket allow all the necessary running energy be generated by the sun. From an economical point of view the average cost of a recharge from the mains (10 15 cents) allow to run on flat roads for at least 100 km. Description of the machine The new bike has practically the same look of a traditional bike because you can place up to 20 batteries in the barrels of the frame thus achieving the overall capacity of 360 Wh and so avoiding the anesthetic external batteries. The electric motor too is completely hidden on the coca cola bottle from where a small transmission shaft is protruding and going to the pedal hub.

Two light alloy blocks are situated on the two upper junctions of the frame and are properly perforated to allow the batteries be easily inserted. The rods of the frame are then welded to those light alloy blocks. Inside the pedal hub we have designed the gear box shown on following and allowing three different possibility of use: Acting on the pedals together with the electric motor Acting the rear drive wheel with the electric motor only taking stopped the pedal (this is not allowed by Italian law but it can be solved with an electronic device) Pedaling with the electric motor held inactive The gear box does not allow the battery be recharged on long downhill but, as better later specified, this feature does not give a significant contribution if you use the solar jacket before said. Solar assembly General and well known calculations show that running on flat road at an average speed of 15 Km/h requires about 50 watts. Other general and well know calculations show that such amount of power can be supplied by a half square meter of photovoltaic surface or, in other words, by a normal sleeveless vest covered by solar cells. The obvious consequence of what is before said is that we can reach an almost infinite range if running at 15 km/h on flat run. If we consider, moreover, that in normal cycling are always included stops for many different reasons, we can really conclude that the real range of our bike with a proper solar vest is really next to infinity. Should also be considered that the cost of a complete recharging by an electric socket could be is low as 10 cents of per 100 km of running (depending on electricity mean cost)

Summary of the energy costs The real final values of the mechanical and electric efficiencies must be further and deeply investigated but right now we can say that we could run for 100 km about paying no more than 10 -15 cents. Using, moreover, the before said sleeveless vest covered by solar cells the real cost of our bike ride rapidly approaches to zero with a nominal infinite running autonomy. In our case this feature is really interesting because it allows more than 1.5 square meter of solar cells to be located in the outer surface and than it can really reach an infinite autonomy for the entire train (bike and trailer) Market sectors The electro bike herein presented is particularly attractive because of its aesthetic and technical characteristics . In particular we must consider thath: From the aesthetical point of view the electro bike is almost identical to a normal bike and a trained eye only can tell the difference That means the bike is really attractive for a wide range of users, especially middle-aged, who love cycling but dislike to use the normal (generally Chinese) electro bikes with a large motor on the wheel hub and very bulky and visible batteries

Another wide range of users is formed by young people, not necessarily athletes and often girls, who could use such bike for a really pleasant cycling without the worry of not being able to reach the stronger boys of the group. For that kind of users, in other words, become possible to organize group long holidays without too much worrying for their physical fitness.
